Still making my silly little human sprites. Spamton and Tenna's designs were inspired by the second image in this post by @iknowwhereiare. I'd still like to make a proper background for my sprites. That might make them more interesting to look at. I'm not an animator...
Tenna has given me the most trouble with his big ears and asymmetrical hair.
(The girl with the white hair is from Mother 3. It is not my sprite.)
My friend keeps saying this gif of Tenna's turnaround is like the Mario Kart character select screen. Personally, it brings me back to Carnival Night Zone, Act 2.
Spamton also learned how to walk.

The wonderful people of 'Grave Mood Rings' ('Grave Mood Rings pokes fast fun at classic slow-moving Gothic soap operas like Dark Shadows and the Canadian series Strange Paradise.') recently made a video featuring a song of mine, 'Rabbit Ears'

Hi! I'm trying to figure out how to make rabbit ears work on a mostly humanoid head, but I'm having trouble figuring out how it'd look without just slapping them on top of the head, since I want to keep the ear canal location the same as on a regular human. Do you have any suggestions?
so one of the reasons we perceive animal ears as being "on top" of the head is just because animal skulls tend to be so much flatter in the cranium compared to a human skull, so their ear canal is actually still on the side, but the shape of the skull makes their ears look like they're on top.
here are a couple posts about cat ears that show what I mean:

and here's a couple rabbit ear sketches to give you an idea for how to do that

it's a start, at least. you can adjust the anatomy for your stylistic needs. have fun!
