Hello! I was wondering if you might be willing to shed some light on your experiences on dissociation as a system. I’m questioning my own dissociation & wondering if it might be a disorder. I don’t think it’s DID and you of course don’t have to answer if this ends up with me being invasive to your experience at all.
I was wondering if there were any physical sensations you felt during a dissociative episode, especially with 1-2 people at the front? Or what it feels like for you to have a dissociative episode in general?
Again, this is just curiosity. I don’t know many people with dissociative disorders and wanted to ask. I apologize if this is weird or crude at all. Thank you!
(Also, I tried to send this earlier on mobile but it looks like Tumblr didn’t send it on my end? So I’m sorry if you’ve got this once or multiple times.)
hii!! no worries, its not weird
in general, our dissociative episodes tend to make us feel like. hazy/ foggy? distant from everything. usually if a single alter feels it physically, its in the way that the disconnect from our body is really pronounced
but we start to feel it more obviously physically when more alters are at front. our brain like actually feels kind of more "crowded" or heavier in a sense, and that heavy feeling gets more pronounced the more of us there are. sometimes we start to feel "laggy?" our words can also get difficult to focus on... hmm
ironically enough theres a few of us at front now as of like. being partway thru this ask lmao but we're so distracted by being gay af so if we think of anything else to add we will!!
