jason and steph are probs the only kids who come to his party (his parents aren't there, but they sent him a bunch of new shit that they thought a kid might like) but that kinda makes it better because jason and steph don't like most kids anyway (THEY are the only ones who get to pick on tim) 

and tim's totally ok with jason and steph playing w/his new toys because tim sucks at playing with them by himself like, mostly he just ignores the toys and goes exploring in the woods on his property with a camera. but it's fun playing with action figures or w/e when jason and steph are playing too. 

that's probably like the one thing he has a leg up on jason and steph with btw--they both suck at climbing trees and tim has to teach them, they both are super jealous at how good he is at it and how tim always manages to like find worms and shit and how he's like not even phased whereas jason's like EWWWW GROSSSS and steph is like FASCINATED in that disgusted sort of way and tim like totally doesn't get it

after that jason and steph wanna play like they're birds or wolves or something and tim doesn't really get that but it's like the first time that tim actually gets to be part of jason&steph as an equal instead of like the villain or the kid or whatever so he feels all warm and proud and included and stuff

also bbs getting tim to jump off the trampoline but he trips and hits concrete and skins his knee and tears but after his mom cleans and patches him up jay and steph tell him how COOL that was and WOW TIM YOU’RE LIKE A STUNTMAN n timmy grins so wide

i bet tim has a swingset too and jason and steph do like, backflips off of the swings but tim is scared to do it so they have to coax him into it and tim never seems to catch onto how he always gets hurt when jason and steph are like COME ON TIM YOU CAN DO IT!!

but yeah i think that like even though jason and steph are a little bit like taking advantage of tim because they're kids and kids can be kinda fucked up like that, the friendship is really good for tim, and eventually he figures out how to stand up to them without fucking shit up with them, although he doesn't do it that often bc it makes him so happy that they're friends with him and actually WANT to hang out with him

also like SLEEPOVERS they make a blanket fort and tim carefully makes popcorn and they watch a scary movie and tim gets really afraid but jason adn steph are like 'we'll protect you' and then tim's okay with it

well i def think that damian like, he starts to hero worship jason and follow him around and be kind of rude to him and make excuses to do things w/him and jason just kinda lets him--like, this is a thing that happens at their normal ages imo, but it's way cuter when they're lil

bc jason doesn't really catch on to what's happening he just kind of is like--a lil annoyed at first bc tagalong but then he kind of gets used to it and likes that he can make damian do his bidding and stuff and enjoys basking in damian's attention, kind of like a lot of older sibs with their younger siblings you know?

and damian's still kinda rood and snooty because hes damian and that's what he does but also he's obviously enamored with jason and starry eyed and he stares at him sometimes bc wow gosh wow. and jason is totally oblivious and uses damian to play tricks on dick and damian becomes his sidekick

and jason also is like, he tells damian all manner of tall tales, like he tells him that if he gets bitten by a cat he'll turn into a cat (damian spends the next few days trying to coax the old family queen into biting him, but fails), and that steph is a fairy princess and jason himself is a werewolf and that aliens visit him in the night and that's where his bellybutton came from, like, jason trying to see how much he can make damian believe, and sometimes he gets dick to play along if the story isn't *too* mean hahaha

oh well it was only f/f ships unless it was a threesome including at least one lady but i can totally do this alrighty 

so the obvious way to go w/this is them being undercover but i just had a thought where like, jason and steph were friends as kids. and they used to play house. 

granted, it was a very jason-and-steph sort of house, bc it was in SPACE--jason was having his alien phase, he wanted steph to play ripley so he could be married to ripley--and they spent the whole time shooting aliens but calling each other 'dear' and 'sweetheart'. steph was pretty bossy about it and jason was cool with that as long as he got to be married to ripley and kill aliens, although sometimes he put up a token protest ('there can't be horses in space!!' 'if there aren't horses then i'm not playing.' 'fine but they gotta be ALIEN horses' 'yeah, with three eyes!') 

and it's very cute. jason's character dies a dramatic death because he's jason and he really likes acting out dramatic deaths, and steph plays along and like wails and SWEARS VENGEANCE and like in his 'dying breath' jason makes her promise to kill all the aliens and steph is like i swear it i won't let you down and it's all very dramatic and fun and adorable. but then steph kisses jason on the forehead (in character!!) and jason still has to play dead but he's ALL AFLUTTER BC OMG 

i'm not a fan :p or well--i guess it's more that, with the way i see the both of their characters, as well as their relationship to each other? i don't think it'd work.

the gist of my feelings is: dick tends to be self-centered--not in that he's selfish, but in that he has difficulty understanding points of view, and tends to see things very clearly from his own perspective. plus, when he cares about ppl, he tends to suck at reading them. 

in addition to that, i believe he tennds to have difficulty getting over his... image, of people. when he knows someone, he tends to... see them more as the image of them he has his head than how they are in reality. he did it with bruce, he did it with barbara, and i believe he does it with jason as well--with different results.

i think when jason came back, dick didn't know what to make of him: he was pointedly different from the sweet kid dick knew and loved. he was complicated, and he was--in dick's eyes--amoral. i think dick was confused and conflicted and--well, dick's feelings about jason... dick was so upset when jason died. he beat himself up so much--partly bc survivor's guilt, and partly because he knew he hadn't been the best possible brother to jason, and he'd never had the chance to make it up to jason as much as he (dick) would've liked to do. so jason's return brought up a lot of complicated feelings for dick.

and then of course jason himself is a very complicated person, and his relationship with dick is very very complicated; i think on some level he worried abt dick and about living up to dick--god knows bruce compared them enough. i think that he worried, and he felt like he was living in dick's shadow, and that influenced his choices as robin. after his resurrection, his issues with bruce complicated his and dick's relationship in that--i believe that jason believes that, if dick were the one the joker killed, bruce would have avenged him. i also think that jason resents dick for being the perfect child, the golden boy, that jason never was and never could be. 

i think jason hero-worships dick to some extent, but refuses to admit that to himself or to anyone else. i think jason blames dick for the hero-worship and resents him for that. in addition i think jason's jealous of dick, and thinks that he--jason--should be more like dick, but knows that he could never *be* more like dick. 

alll of that manifests in a very complicated relationship, one where dick and jason tend to hurt each other because they don't understand each other, and because they have these Ideas about each other that they have a hard time getting past. i like their relationship as brothers, but i think that as a couple they would probably... wind up being very destructive, to each other and to everyone else. 

i think the root of it is that they're very complicated people who have a whole lot of trouble understanding each other, partly because of their respective personalities and issues, and partly bc of their history together.
