Can't stop thinking about the insane intimacy between Mal and Jay - literally two sides of the same blade. The way they've been running with each for so long that they're not nice to each other but they almost, kind of, definitely trust each other. They show each other mercies that aren't allowed on the isle by disguising it as cruelty. They've seen each other at their worst and love it, still love each other despite walking over the broken glass of their souls. There's no expectation because, honestly? How could they judge each other anymore. There's nothing worse that they could do to each other that they haven't done already and, let's be real, Mal is just as fiercely loyal to Jay as he is madly devoted to her.

Jay may play the role of the savage dog waiting obediently for his master's command to bite, but Mal is no less the cruel master who likes to pull at the leash just to see how far she can go before Jay turns and bites at her. AND HE NEVER DOES. He reacts with kindness and a willing submission to her cruelty every time??? I'm going to be sick.
