Terrifying to see some people in the IBD groups I follow who have been shielding for 4 months due to immunosuppressants or steroid use, seeing the 6th July easing as a reason to completely undo the last 4 months.
Yes the government are fucking appalling but the lack of common sense is astounding and surely even if you have no fear of covid you have the fear of your illness being exacerbated by potentially even mild covid symptoms!
I get at some point (likely August 1st) we will be thrust back into 'normal life' but due to one of my meds i have the guidance of extremely strict social distancing and to me that doesn't mean an all night piss up in the dining room round a tiny side table without masks and pulling a michael scott by shouting I DECLARE SOCIAL DISTANCING and thinking that's enough. The line 'well i want to have one night before they lock us down again' is naive. Covid isn't going to think ah shit we have been a bit harsh so we'll give them a 6 hour non distancing stint free.
