physical touch with taniel <3

➽──────────────❥
taniel couldn't live without small, lingering touches
he's hovers near you all the time, always keeping you close, always just inches away, he's always coming up with excuses to touch you, he'll tuck loose strands of hair behind your ear, or tie your shoe no matter where the two of you are, but he will deny any ulterior motives
during winter he always frets about how cold you are, will wrap a scarf or arm around you, he will warm your hands up with his or in his coat pockets, is holding onto you in case you slip on ice, cuddling under mountains of blankets and plushies
at home he seems so domestic, will move your socked feet onto his lap no matter who's home, will 'let' you sit on his lap while he reads in his chair, always thigh to thigh on the loveseat, always wants to slow dance in the kitchen just to hold your hand and be close to you, offering to help put on your jewelry so “the clasps don’t hurt your pretty hands”
carrying you over puddles or hot pavement just so you wrap your arms around him, sitting on the ground between his legs during picnics, and him resting his chin on your shoulder, twirling you around during every hug so he feels you grip onto him tighter, trying to nuzzle his way in your lap when you're busy reading in bed, is at your side and doting on you whenever he hears you make a loud thud or mutter an “ouch”
he plays with your hands, tracing over your knuckles and old scars, drawing patterns on your shoulders and thighs while you ramble about a movie, rocking you to sleep on the porch swing with your head in his lap, pulling you into photo booths just so you kiss his cheek, ‘helping’ you out of the car just to grab your hand and press a chaste kiss on your knuckles
having a had of your waist or the small of your back when walking in public, will roll both of you over in bed when he can’t get comfortable, raking his hand up and down your back well after you've fallen asleep, having you sleep on his chest after you wake up from nightmares, always lets you use his bicep as a pillow no matter how times his arm falls asleep, patting your head at random times just to remind himself that you're really his
if IT and Maturin are meant to be absolute opposites, and Maturin is said to be wise and slow in his actions/decisions, then it would make sense for IT to be impulsive and unwise (wouldn't go as far as say it's dumb), so it would make sense how many chances it lost to win in the finale.
IT could've easily used those wings and flown past the tree without much issue, he would've bested the humans in a second. But he stopped to fight them and brag in their faces how he was about to be free, he made a whole spectacle of it. Every bad move it's done in the final battle was because it was unwise, in a way.
IT is very childish, not just when it's a clown. IT holds resentment and pettiness towards specific people. Like when it went back to Francis because it remembered it did not get to eat him as a child, wasting time scaring him and biting his face when it could've left that for later. Or when it gave a whole monologue (addicted to giving monologues tbh) to Marge instead of just killing her and preventing Richie from being born.
I get the whole fear making the meat tastier, but there were occasions where it would've been smarter for IT to just kill someone. IT is driven by greed and gluttony and that is a great weakness too.
Ironically (or maybe intentionally), he's like the hare from The Tortoise and the Hare, overconfident in its victory and getting distracted on the path, while the tortoise (the humans) kept persevering and at last reached the finish line first.
If the theory of him being trapped in a sort of time loop and being unable to be free of it is true, then this could also be the reason why it hasn't successfully killed the parents of the losers, and possibly the parents of the parents and so on every time it goes back.
Or maybe I'm overthinking it, but it's fun to see it that way.

I just had a thought.
What if...
What if the Losers Club were never actually supposed to be born?
Hear me out.
Everyone is focused on IT trying to eliminate the Losers Club's parents, grandparents, great-grandparents etc. in order to prevent it's death but, what if the whole point of the show is to show that the Losers Club were never supposed to exist and only actually exist because of IT's actions. Because IT caused it. Like, a ripple effect. Like, a butterfly effect. In trying to wipe out their bloodline, IT is the reason it continues.
I've already mentioned this but, the Hanlon's were going to leave Derry. It was mentioned multiple times that they were going to leave and in the final episode of the season, they packed up their house and were in the car ready to go and changed their mind at the very last minute because of Rose's comment that someone needs to stay and keep an eye on Derry and make sure that no one ever tries to open the cage and free IT. They stayed because of IT. Because of the threat IT poses and because they know it can never be released and as a result, not only does Will and his future wife unfortunately die but it also guarantees that Mike is born and joins the Losers Club in 27 years and then brings everyone back together 27 years after that in order to actually kill IT.
Same with Marge. Yes everyone has been theorising since the get go that she was Richie's mother but, what if she wasn't actually supposed to be? Maybe Richie was never supposed to even exist. IT killing Matty, Phil, Teddy & Susie and framing Hank set off a chain of events for practically every single character on the show but especially the kids as they were all, including Marge, risking their lives and trying to find the proof that Hank was innocent, trying to prove IT existed and destroy it and it's what lead to them being in the Black Spot the night the lynch mob attacked it and murdered 23 people including Rich. What is that wasn't supposed to happen? What if Rich was never supposed to be in that fire? Maybe he & Marge & were supposed to end up together and she was supposed to have a completely different life than she ends up having with Wentworth. What if the only reason Richie actually exists is because Rich died?
Maybe it's exactly the same thing that happened with everyone in the Losers Club.
Maybe their parents or grandparents or great-grandparents etc. were supposed to die. Maybe they were suppose to leave Derry. Maybe they were supposed to marry someone else or never get married at all. What if those bloodlines were actually supposed to die with them? What if this was a self-fulfilling prophecy and by trying to end these lines, IT actually creates them all?
I mean, it is possible, isn't it?
me + my flatmate's thoughts on welcome to derry
IT: Welcome to Derry theory
Spoliers below for finale!!!
Guys what if what Lilly said to Marge at the end is true? What if this show is really about how It tries to go back in time and kill the Losers Club’s family and ancestors so to prevent them from killing It, or like It said to actually make that Its rebirth. This would actually be so insane. Along with the fact that It seems to be independent from time since he knows the future like would that not mean he tried to do everything in his power to change the outcome? So its either he is trying to go back and change things or he always did try to change the outcome but failed. Either way this is just crazy
