IT: Welcome to Derry
Dick Hallorann core:
thank god i at least watched it: welcome to derry this december. itwtd solos stranger things season 5 anyday
I just had a thought.
What if...
What if the Losers Club were never actually supposed to be born?
Hear me out.
Everyone is focused on IT trying to eliminate the Losers Club's parents, grandparents, great-grandparents etc. in order to prevent it's death but, what if the whole point of the show is to show that the Losers Club were never supposed to exist and only actually exist because of IT's actions. Because IT caused it. Like, a ripple effect. Like, a butterfly effect. In trying to wipe out their bloodline, IT is the reason it continues.
I've already mentioned this but, the Hanlon's were going to leave Derry. It was mentioned multiple times that they were going to leave and in the final episode of the season, they packed up their house and were in the car ready to go and changed their mind at the very last minute because of Rose's comment that someone needs to stay and keep an eye on Derry and make sure that no one ever tries to open the cage and free IT. They stayed because of IT. Because of the threat IT poses and because they know it can never be released and as a result, not only does Will and his future wife unfortunately die but it also guarantees that Mike is born and joins the Losers Club in 27 years and then brings everyone back together 27 years after that in order to actually kill IT.
Same with Marge. Yes everyone has been theorising since the get go that she was Richie's mother but, what if she wasn't actually supposed to be? Maybe Richie was never supposed to even exist. IT killing Matty, Phil, Teddy & Susie and framing Hank set off a chain of events for practically every single character on the show but especially the kids as they were all, including Marge, risking their lives and trying to find the proof that Hank was innocent, trying to prove IT existed and destroy it and it's what lead to them being in the Black Spot the night the lynch mob attacked it and murdered 23 people including Rich. What is that wasn't supposed to happen? What if Rich was never supposed to be in that fire? Maybe he & Marge & were supposed to end up together and she was supposed to have a completely different life than she ends up having with Wentworth. What if the only reason Richie actually exists is because Rich died?
Maybe it's exactly the same thing that happened with everyone in the Losers Club.
Maybe their parents or grandparents or great-grandparents etc. were supposed to die. Maybe they were suppose to leave Derry. Maybe they were supposed to marry someone else or never get married at all. What if those bloodlines were actually supposed to die with them? What if this was a self-fulfilling prophecy and by trying to end these lines, IT actually creates them all?
I mean, it is possible, isn't it?

Dick Hallorann finally leaving Derry and getting hired as the hotel chef until he sees that there are demonic ghosts inside:
We all reach the end of our stories at different times, the important thing is that we make the journey together
When the love of your friends enables you to conquer the self-destructive narratives you were taught to believe about yourself
