"Love ain't easy." Sable had been keeping an eye on Neo as they trekked to the next location. At the rate Neo was hiking, they'd be lucky to reach the bees before autumn.
The pair came to a sheer cliff with no pathway to climb. But set right into a small hole was a carved creature made straight from the rock. She knew its massive neck and pointed beak well; a Marshkite, largest of the flying forms her people could take. Her mother had left that there. Taking that form would get Sable up, but it'd leave Neo far below. She'd have to find another way.
Sable's eyes continued to work as her mouth spoke her feelings. "Way I see it, love is like setting camp with someone. If you both work at it, it makes it a little easier sometimes. Even fun." She saw a particularly tall tree and took several steps back to measure the jump required to reach the cliff from its higher branches. "But if only one person tries, then it gets hard to carry two."
Sable finally looked at Neo, starting to smile. "I'm glad you're back and trying. You're making it a lot easier to love you this time." She hoped her point and gratitude came across properly. Soft, vulnerable things like this were always tricky.

Still, his mouth quirks upward despite himself. He taps the lone marked line with one finger, thoughtful, amused. “But I’ll take the single bingo as evidence for why we’re good pals.” A brief pause, then a dry smirk. “Even if your methodology is deeply questionable.”

Sable gave a small snorting laugh, taking easy notice of Neo's flaunting curls. "You're lucky I love you, ya little cheat." She traced the tip of her claw along her jawline. "If those curls are real, I could spend the afternoon running my fingers through them?"
