Earlier today in the 20 minutes it took me to watch a video they had overhauled their interface to make it uglier and solely optimized for mobile devices. They are like half a step away from removing the web interface entirely and forcing everyone to download a "youtube app" on their fucking computers.

But I'm used to ignoring their bullshit so I kept watching my videos anyway.

Then just now in the 30 seconds or so it took me to finish one video (music, it's late and I'm drinking and I was feeling nostalgic for the music of my youth) and decide the next one to click on, the entire site seems to have just given up. The next video page loaded but the video itself stayed black for a bit, then the traditional "experiencing delays? find out why" popup appeared for a bit to try to con me into switching to Chrome. And then the video just switched to "video not available."

I figured this is some new bullshit related to them overhauling their interface to make it worse. Such "updates" often cause issues like this for a brief period.

Tried refreshing a few times, same result. Tried other videos, same result. Tried the video I had just watched: same result. Tried videos of other genres. Same result.

I assumed this was the next volley in their war against firefox and adblock, so I switched to Invidious.

Video not available.

Switched instance. Same result.

Grabbed my tablet from where it was charging and opened up Newpipe.

Error. Unable to contact server.

Back to browser on the PC, looked at my own channel. Videos won't load, just caught in an infinite loop of restarting.

Popped over to isitdownrightnow.com to see if maybe there's some actual issue beyond YouTube being a piece of greedy fuck that ignores EU rulings stating that we have the right to use adblockers.

Which could mean nothing. Or some massive part of the internet may have just gone down which is causing problems all over the place.
