i just honestly love kaiji x any older man honestly. which... okay thats not hard, nearly everyone is older than him, but also... ahhhh... he just has that vibe that's so nice put up against an older guy. couple that with the daddy issues he DEFINITELY has (definitely. absolutely. i feel it in my heart for sure), and it's fun. i can honestly see kaiji being attracted to that gentle, genuine nature of ishida's. and then feeling weird and guilty for being attracted to him over it.
the way i can see it maybe develop is kaiji at first just really appreciating ishida's fatherly nature, he's like ahh, pops is just so kind and gentle and nice, he's a good guy. it starts off innocent, just regular platonic admiration. and then cause kaiji is just such a dog and latches onto any scraps he can, that would develop into something kind of like a crush/yearning. like i can see him getting his hair gently ruffled by ishida and just feeling that pang in his chest and stomach and thinking oh no.
meanwhile ishida obviously seems him platonically, albeit in a very idolised way. so he admires him a lot but the thought of him like that never occurs to him, after all he has a son the very same age hhhhhot so ofc it never goes there for him.
until kaiji gets really drunk and makes a move, like maybe leaning in too much with his cheeks all flushed and his eyes half lidded and mumbling something about really wanting ishida in that way and ofc ishida is all flustered and like kaiji-kun!!!!! and kaiji is like almost crawling into his lap atp but then he just passes out on the table or his shoulder or smth and ishida is like man!!!! man!!
and kaiji of COURSE doesnt remember it but ishida does and now he's all embarassed because the seed has been planted and yeah okay kaiji kun is objectively handsome and pretty and has lovely long hair that frames his face so nicely and dark lashes that surround beautiful brown eyes and long, elegant features and lips that are so kissable-
so ishida starts thinking Inappropriate thoughts and he's so embarassed about it meanwhile kaiji is still kinda crushing and feeling ashamed about it
