Well... I was enjoying Violet Evergarden up until she said she was 14 years old.
#text post#personal#the premise was so good#the ship was set up and I was like yeah okay im on board#but then they made her so young#why#it's so unnecessary#she's fighting in a war#with other adults#and she's#14????#she LOOKS like she's in her 20s#just make her 17 or 18 if you HAVE to keep her young#it just logically makes no sense#and THEN her love interest#is 29#like listen#im not one to kinkshame over age gaps#but i HATE HATE HATE all the anime tropes where the older guy who is essentially her FATHER FIGURE#who RAISED HER while she was under his command#and add that to her extreme literal childish naivete#and you don't get a sweet sempai vibe#you are creeping into grooming vibes#anime why are you like this#and I was having a good time
