âYOU MUST TRAVEL TO THE SUMMITâ -
Ironsword (Zippo Games - NES - 1989)Â
â What was the last spin off series you read? Did you enjoy it more than the original? Thereâs a few spin offs that I have enjoyed more than the original story! Definitely feel that way about Shadowhunter series and love JLAâs Origin series. For my fellow fae-loving fans, The Iron Sword is out in the world now! This is the second book in @juliekagawaauthorâs The Iron Fey spin off series, Evenfall. Many thank you to @inkyardpress for sending me a copy of the first two books! Have you read any of The Iron Fey books yet? Book Description: As Evenfall nears, the stakes grow ever higher for those in FaeryâŚÂ Banished from the Winter Court for daring to fall in love, Prince Ash achieved the impossible and journeyed to the End of the World to earn a soul and keep his vow to always stand beside Queen Meghan of the Iron Fey. Now he faces even more incomprehensible odds. Their son, King Keirran of the Forgotten, is missing. Something more ancient than the courts of Faery and more evil than anything Ash has faced in a millennium is rising as Evenfall approaches. And if Ash and his allies cannot stop it, the chaos that has begun to divide the world will shatter it for eternity. â HASHTAGS //ââââ #booksbooksbooks #bookworm #bookstagram #booksarelife #bookobsessed #prettybooks #bookdragon #bookstagrammer #bookstack #bookaesthetic #yabooks #fantasybooks #IronSwordtour #IronSword #IronFey #juliekagawa #inkyardpress #storygramtours #faeriefolk #faeriecore https://www.instagram.com/p/CZkN-8Jvcxf/?utm_medium=tumblr

Conversion Corner: Random NES game Spells part 1
Familiar (Ironsword: Wizards and Warriors II)
Weâre back again with another special on converting spells from video games to Pathfinder, but in this case, weâre reaching from a broader pool than one game, instead going for spells from the NES era of gaming.
Of course, the major issue with that is that depending on the game, spells may be completely broken if taken directly from the source game. Any âspellâ that qualifies as a âScreen nukeâ, for example, will never make this list.
Today, however, we will be taking a spell that may seem overpowered at first, but if recontextualized, could be quite useful.
In Ironsword, the Familiar spell creates a little smiley-face that flies around the screen for a little bit and seeks out enemies and turns them into gold pickups on contact, and in one case actually reaches out and grabs a necessary treasure that is normally out of reach.
Now, instantly turning enemies into valuables, even minor ones, would be seriously overpowered. However, all we need to do really is have the spell be able to take an enemy out of the fight, even temporarily, and also steal valuables.
 Spirit of Avarice
School: conjuration (creation) Level: antipaladin 4, bard 5, magus 5, mesmerist 5, occultist 5, psychic 5, shaman 5, sorcerer/wizard 5 witch 5
Casting
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Components: V, S, F (a golden trinket in the shape of a hand worth 50 gp)
Effect
Range: close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Effect: one spiritual minion
Duration: 1 min per level
Saving Throw: none; see text Spell Resistance: no
Description
You conjure into being a semi-corporeal, grinning spirit of greed from your own mind to steal from foes or acquire items from a distance. The spirit has hit points equal to 10 per caster level, and can be damaged by any method. The spirit has improved evasion, uses your save bonuses, and has an AC of 24 (+6 natural armor, +8 size). The spirit moves 30 ft each round, and you can spend a move action each round to move it another 30 ft. If you spend a swift action, the spirit can attempt a steal combat maneuver using your base attack and spellcasting modifier (The one that you use to determine your spellcasting DCs) as itâs CMB. When the spirit successfully steals an item, the target of the combat maneuver must make a Fortitude save or be stunned for one round as the spirit surges with energy.
Alternatively, you may direct the spirit to pick up unattended items, and uses your Sleight of Hand bonus if necessary.
The spirit can roll stealth to remain hidden if it needs to, having a Stealth bonus equal to 8+ your spellcasting modifier
No matter how the spirit acquired the object, the spirit can only carry 5 pounds per caster level, but it can hand off its ill-gotten gains to you. Objects too heavy for it to carry drop to the ground.
I based this spell loosely on the ectoplasmic hand spell, stripping away functionality but bolstering it by making it less vulnerable. The result is a strange little glowing creature that can steal valuables for you even in the middle of combat.
Wednesday, February 26: Ironsword, âKings of the Nightâ
Southern Europe wasnât known as a major metal hub, but Portugalâs Ironsword delivered four albums of quality power metal that hewed to tradition without sounding like a pastiche. Sure, âKings of the Nightâ had traces of Helloween, Running Wild and HammerFall, but one could also easily hear bits of admitted inspiration like Cirith Ungol and Manilla Road (pretty amazing how far and wide the latter bandâs influence reached, considering their nonexistent mainstream profile).  The riffing was epic but the track length fortunately wasnât, and Joao Fonsecaâs vocals were likably rough-edged.  âKings of the Nightâ was exactly the sort of marauding rampage perfect for a night out, or at least for a good workout.
