No matter where in the city Battler looked at, wraiths waited for him left and right. Being unable to take the easy route of creating a safe haven, he's been looking for one instead, albeit to no avail so far. It's really disconcerting arriving in an area, thinking he's finally what he wants, only for a wraith to jump at him all of a sudden. He's lost count of all the close calls he's had already.

At least he's being able of protecting people he spots during these trips. It's surely good that no citizen is after his skin anymore, which allows him to trust others easily again, as he likes. Such is the case with this kid that he's rescued from a wraith horde, just a few minutes ago. Now that they've gotten to the roof of a building (thanks to Battler's teleporting powers), they've gotten to chatting casually to relieve the tension.

Again, and again, and again, and she won’t stop when she evolves either. Nobody will want to hang out with you because you’re too contagious! Yeah, that’ll teach you to be such a filthy casual!”
