In the realm of dreams, where even fantasy could become a reality, arose a vast kingdom surrounded by mountains and fertile land. The skies, the seas and the forests were adorned with fantastic beasts of your wildest imaginations, the prominence of magic giving humanity the protection and formidability they needed to survive. Though they struggled to remain at the top of the hierarchical chain, they thrived upon their craft, bringing about a golden age of culture and invention. And with those that would also abuse these boons, is where our tale begins...
Here, Riku was born into royalty, a prince living in a castle, no longer the idol center he once was in another time and place. But despite the vast changes to his lifestyle, he was unable to escape his destined bane: sickly and bedridden since childhood... But he was still happy--his family was kind and famously known for their benevolence towards the public, and the likes of his precious twin brother, Tenn, was very much by his side as his protector (what a kind, kind dream!). Speaking of, Tenn being the oldest son and birthright successor, he had become the epitome of natural genius and maturity, Riku very much inspired by his talents.
However, that lead to some meddling on his part, much to everyoneâs chagrin..
Since the idea was planted in his head to become of more use to Tenn and those around him, Riku had dug his nose into the likes of magical tomes he found laying about the castle archives and the library. The Nanase family had always had a strong line of those with magical affinity,  Tenn and Riku no different, but where Tenn had learned all sorts of spells and tactics, Rikuâs lack of stamina and chronic illness prevented him from practicing anything that would put too much strain on his body. Thus, he found a knack for healing and defensive magic, persisting until he was able to even save those fallen and injured from battle.Â
He was praised for his selflessness and care, and because he had found some use to his power, began to study medicine as well. It would be nice if he could help others like himself, after all.
So today, Riku had snuck away from his quarters again for a short trip, tiptoeing through the halls and out into the garden, where he slipped through the finely trimmed hedges surrounding the courtyard and into the wild forest nearby.

A vast forest stretches here, almost as far as the eye can see - almost, because in the distance, just at the edges of sight, are the hints of roofs that signal civilization. Itâs a cool autumn night, and eerily quiet; something about this place whispers to a primordial fear, causes a sense of unease that urges you to turn back.
He paces idly, in the heart of it. Thereâs something he should be remembering, he thinks, but he feels lethargic even with the night. Paws are feet for the briefest of flickers; the moment passes.
The peaceful slumber that Celica had fallen into had been disturbed by the chilly air of the night wind. It seemed strange, considering that she didnât remembering opening a window before she had gone to bed, but she was too tired to consider that now. Still half-asleep and intent on keep her eyes shut, her hand reached down to pull the covers back over her-thatâs when she realized that there were no covers to grab. In fact, there was no bed to be laying on, ether. That slow realization was what made her decide to fully wake up and open her eyes.
âMmng... What...? Where am I...?â
Celica sat up with a jolt as she finally realized that she was no longer in her room-or her own apartment, for that matter. Her pajamas had been swapped out for her regular clothes, and she could not see Minerva no matter which direction she turned to face. As far as she could tell, she wasnât even in Hive City any longer-it seemed like she had somehow ended up in in some sort of huge forest that was a long way away from any sort of human civilization.
...But that wasnât possible, right...?
Was this some sort of trick by the scientists? Some sort of new experiment to test on the citizens? It had to be, right? Itâs not like she could leave...
...Right?
â...Hello? Minerva? Anyone? Is anyone else out there...?â
The magician called out to the empty air for a little while, faintly hoping that someone might come running. After a few minutes of waiting for a response to no avail, Celica picked herself up off that ground and stood up, wrapping her jacket around herself to try and protect herself from the chilly air. Picking a direction completely at random, she started navigating through the bushes and trees, hoping she could find her way out without any trouble.Â

âAww geez Minnie. Finally a night out huh?âÂ
Mickey crooned as a gloved hand embraced his belovedâs own. Fingers interlacing as he watched her visage in the glow of the candle lights.Â
âNothing can beat this night. Oh boy. Only one thing could make this night one hundred percent absolutely wonderful.â He chuckled as he leaned in, lips puckered towards the woman. Eyes closed waiting to feel the touch of hers.Â
PangÂ
Mickey shivered, eyes open abruptly. Minnieâs eyes looking at him with concern. He shook his head and leaned in again. Eyes closing once again.Â
PangÂ
His eyes opened again, except this time Minnie wasnât there. Before him was an empty seat. Mickey looked around and the rest of the restaurants still hustled and bustled like usual. Nobody seem to notice the sound. The mouseâs eyes opeend as he tired to look around for Minnie.Â
PangÂ
The sound rang again, this time extinguishing the candle before him. Mickey looked in surprise as suddenly cracks formed around, breaking the very dimension he was in. The sound rang again.Â
P A N G
The entire room shattered and broke into dust. Mickey found himself in darkness and he began to fall. Head diving into eternal abyss as music began to play. A womanâs voice cried out. Â

âWaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!â
Mickey crash lands into a cobblestone street. The sky above is dark but the entire area is illuminated with lamp posts. Orbs of randiant light flicker to and fro as the mouse opened his eyes and stood up, trying to regain his bearings. Meeting the look of a young man in silver hair.Â
Traverse Town is still widely unchanged-- youâre skeptical, but you fault that to still being such a novice to this worldâs mechanics. It canât be helped. So you call down to the stranger below you, leaning forward ever so slightly just so she can actually see you on that rooftop. âWhatâs your deal?â

The slightest motion made by his hands brought upon him the feeling of being assailed by a hundred pins and needles. For, no matter how many operations he had, the recovery process wasnât any easier. Still, Strange remained resilient, convincing himself that the pain was temporary; that by some miracle procedure he could be cured.
After all, in the medical industry miracles were sold to the highest bidder. No doubt every consultant he met with could detect the stench of desperation which clung to him. Every ounce of rationale had slipped through the cage-like conscience of an analytical mind. Heâd do anything now to have his hands-- no, to have his world returned to the way it was before the accident.
Initially the sensation was as if heâd been awoken from a dream. But in truth he had only just shut his eyes, awakening instead to a world which predated the present. However, even the Sorcerer Supreme himself was unable to recognize it as such, falling instantly into the fallacy the scientists had constructed.
So upon his âawakeningâ was he attuned to a faint room over from his own-- the records room, if he recalled correctly. Intrigue got the better of him, as curiosity was a notorious notion of the doctorâs.
While his hands remained bandaged during the course of his recovery, he was spared some mobility. It was enough so that he was able to disembark his bed on his own, his footsteps second to silence as he padded towards the door. He was shortly at the adjacent entrance, the golden plaque notating the âArchivesâ gleaming gently beneath the buzz of hall bulbs ahead. He spared a glance down the hall as the low rattle of a file cabinet reached his ears on the other side of the door. It was late...much too late for anyone to be tooling around in there. At least, thatâs what the state of the empty halls indicated to him.
A forearm nested against the door, pressing it open to reveal a figure silhouetted against silven file cabinets. Convincing though her dressings were (intended to paint her as an employee, he presumed), Stephenâs skepticism prevailed.
âYouâre not from around here, are you.â It wasnât a question, but rather an arguably smug observation on the displaced doctorâs part. âI know every doctor, nurse, and technician in this establishment-- some of them regrettably so.â The end he tacked on almost as an afterthought. Though this reflection would not detract from the matter at hand as Strange stepped further in, permitting the door to swing shut behind him as he put forth a query bordering upon an accusation.
Now this was a familiar sight, staring up at the neon lights of an all too familiar bar. Sugar Hole, long time no see. Smile couldnât help but crack a grin, shaking his head. Of all the places.....well it was one of old haunts after all, and he couldnât say he didnât miss it. Wonder if the cake was still as good as he remembered.Â
You could hear the music coming from inside, a dull beat that if one stood still enough, you could feel reverberate in your chest. Of course there seemed to be someone he didnât quite recognize nearby, causing the boy to tilt his head in curiosity, scratching the back of his neck.
He didnât seem very intent on calling out to the stranger but, with the amount he was staring maybe it would get their attention.
This was a calmer dream, albeit one someone might consider boring. Though if it was boring to them it was the closest Smile could get to a âgoodâ dream, hiding up on the top balcony of the school, cigarette held between his lips. Obviously not candy as he exhaled smoke, an arm dangling over the railing.
This place held both good and bad memories for the boy, perhaps the good outweighed the bad though, as nothing exactly seemed to be going wrong quite yet. His head turned, alerted to a new presence in this normally solitary dream, someone unfamiliar and foreign.
