Just came back from my first trip to Thailand and immediately rewatched itsay and ipytm for the first time in forever bc I saw Billkin's face on a big ass billboard and it made me think of these two amazing series

In next-level QL actor dating news, Goy Arachaporn (aka Koi who played Khim in IPYTM, Soda in Why R U, and has a screenwriting credit for ITSAY) and former Move Forward Party Prime Minister candidate, Pita Limjaroenrat, have announced they’re dating.
I am watching I Told Sunset About You and it's absolutely gorgeous! The cinematography is beautiful, the actors are excellent, I love the ost but despite all that, despite the great writing, I am not as obsessed as everyone on the BL community with this series... Is there something wrong with me? I can tell it's excellent, I agree with everyone on that (it's one on the best BL I have watched, no questions on that) but I don't feel any special connection with the characters and the story and that makes me pretty sad, I would even go as far as say I am disappointed in myself (which I know is stupid). Have you ever experienced that? Watching a film or a series, seeing no flaws but still not feeling connected?
So this is gonna be the last time I answer an ask that’s mostly just telling me the asker’s feelings about a show. People are free to DM me, as I said.
I wrote about the topic of ‘personal taste’ and the concept of ‘good’ here. If it’s not making you feel things, I would recommend not using the language of “best.” You might mean “technically skilled” or “well-crafted” or “appealing to high-brow tastes.” Those are all distinct qualities from “good” that do not have to carry a personal judgment. You are allowed to dislike something that’s highly praised.
Personally, I like IPYTM wayyyy more than ITSAY. Both are visually stunning with filmic cinematography, but IPYTM feels so much more unique in its story and its style, rather than the indebtedness to Call Me By Your Name the first series has (that issue is also one I take with Secrets Happened on Litchi Island). I love how true they stay to the characters. If you’re gonna do realism, that’s the kind of place I need it to be taken.
ITSAY is fine, but it was groundbreaking for its cinematography, its embrace of post-modern acting approaches, and the introduction of PP and Billkin as celebrities. If you’re into those things, you’re gonna have a good time with ITSAY. if you’re focus is on complex plotting, dialogue, humor, or more theatrical approaches to acting, ITSAY would be nowhere near the top of my list of recommendations for you.

I'm so tired of people bringing up ipytm everytime gelboys s2 is mentioned like plEase just stooopp! I understand that not everyone liked ipytm but it wasn't even as terrible as people try to make it be?? personally I think the pacing was the biggest problem but the storyline makes sense the characters make sense and their actions aling with what we already knew about them form itsay, also everyone seem to forget that this was not written nor directed by boss kuno AND as much as I love both series they're simply not the same??? like why is people being so negative and keep comparing them and saying that a second season is going to ruin gelboys it's so damn annoying ughh
