- Hates as hard as he loves - "I want to be with you forever" is a threat - quoting @biochemjess: a flag so black it’s actually a black hole Lu Feng's love is all consuming. Yi Chen is the only light in his world and Lu Feng's entire reason for existing. His need is so great, he will do anything, give anything and sacrifice everything for the one he loves... he just wants the same in return. Without Yi Chen, Lu Feng become a walking corpse without a heart. But the moment that love turns to hate, scorched earth mode is activated and his only reason to live is to see Yi Chen suffer. Lu Feng's hate is as all consuming as his love had been and he relishes every tear. He would happily see them both dead, but only because he believes there is no love for him in Yi Chen's heart. The moment Lu Feng realizes his mistake, his hatred dissolves and he clings to that tiny glimmer of hope, again willing to do anything and everything to be with the one he loves.

So where does Lu Feng rank on the sweet psycho list? This one was tricky. On one hand, Lu Feng absolutely enjoys both physically and emotionally hurting Yi Chen and is willing to see him dead rather than set him free... which puts him right up there under Jaemin from Secret Relationships... or arguably even worse than Jaemin. But Lu Feng is only willing to go that far because he hates him in that moment, there is no love there. Threat of death was a deal breaker for Kelvin from Yesterday who would rather let go than see his victim lover in a body bag. So at first glance, Kelvin seems a little sweeter than Lu Feng. However, Kelvin caged, tortured and scarred his love while actively in love with him. In contrast, the moment Lu Feng's hatred crumbled, so did his ability to intentionally inflict pain on his precious beloved. So we think Lu Feng is slightly sweeter than Kelvin, but crossed lines Fan Xiao only dreamed about.

Did we get it right? What does your list look like?

Two actors finding it hard to separate real life from the roles they are playing? This looks deliciously messy and sad and we are definitely planning to watch it! We have just been waiting until it there were more episodes out. We find that some series fall flat or lose emotional momentum for us when we have to wait an entire week between episodes, so we've been watching less live. We actually have a long list of series we wanted to start that end in July, but hopefully Deep In is one we will be starting soon. Until then... we are dodging spoilers!

Why is there so much out that we want to see?!? Wait... did we actually finish 13 series since our last post?!!! Guess that is what happens when bunch of series wrap up and very few live watches means we have time to binge. We have been having fun! Our last post for anyone interested.

Weak Hero Class 1

South Korea - Drama

Staring: Park Ji-hoon & Choi Hyun-wook

Yeon Si-eun is a high school loner that studies hard with his sole focus on his grades. When school bullies push him too far, this weak underdog viciously fights back using his brain to level the playing field.

It's easy to see why so many people love this series and we have joined the ranks. Sieun is one of those characters you desperately root for. We were so invested in his story and watching his relationships develop. The friendship between Sieun and Suho is everything! But this series hurt and is not here to hold your hand or offer you comfort. Still, even if it made us anxious and left us broken, we loved it and are seated for season 2.

Ending: Saaaaad 😭 No comfort and no hope.

Tears: Yep.

Fluff Violence: So much! We felt some of those hits in our body! 🤢

Kill To Love

Singapore/Chinese series - Romantic Drama

Staring: Zhang Zhe Xu & Mi Jin

One is the sixth prince never meant to take the throne and the other an enemy assassin. When a relationship forms between two people that continuously lie, scheme and hurt each other, love turns toxic and becomes a cruel weapon. The line between love and hate blurs as they become trapped by circumstance and duty.

This series.... 😭 We refused to watch live since we were scared it could end sad... and then it did. After getting spoilers, we just couldn't make ourselves watch it even though everyone swore it was worth the pain! Fast forward to our terrible choice to let tumblr pick a series from ones we kept bumping and Kill To Love won in a landslide. So we forced ourselves to finally watch. After initially crashing out, we have to admit that we think this was a really good story and we are glad we didn't miss it.

This story is a full tragedy and these two were doomed from the start. But even though we knew where it was going, we found it impossible not to get invested. These characters just worked well for us and we wished they could have a happy ending even though we knew it was impossible. Things were too toxic and too broken and we are actually glad they didn't try to wash that all away with a happy ending. We are obsessed over how these characters mirror each other. Light spoiler: One regrets nothing and would make the same choices again. The other regrets everything and wishes he chose differently. One couldn't let go of duty and the other couldn't let go of love. They both lie and hurt each other over and over again and it's both well done and devastating to watch. The larger story could have been stronger and better developed, but overall, it gave us enough to sink our teeth into and feel satisfied. If you feel like being wrecked by tragic lovers doomed to hurt each other, this one was good. Bring tissues.

Ending: 😭😭😭 This was a tragedy.

Tears: Even armed with spoilers, this hurt!
