i understand that this could’ve been hard to animate but i just love the idea of amber with more textured hair 🥰🥰
amber doodle bc i miss her dearly...
It pisses me off that the writers used Amber, who had the potential to be such as interesting character, as the disposable black girlfriend whose only role in the story was to date Mark so that Mark and Eve don’t immediately get together in the first season. As soon as she didn’t need to fill in that role anymore, she was pushed out of relevance in the story.
I must know, what is this Amber/Mark/Rex you speak of? I am listening very intently
OOOO BET...little infodump under the cut (continuation of this post kinda)

I genuinely don't even care if Amber was 'rude', she literally deserved to be. I fear none of you would survive a healthy relationship if you can't wrap your head around the need for your partner to both communicate and actually respond and address your communication.
Mark was an objectively horrible boyfriend. That doesn't make him a bad person, that doesn't mean he purposefully meant to hurt Amber's feelings or demean her, and that doesn't mean they could never ever work. But, with what happened in the show, he did not accurately communicate his own feelings or listen and understand Amber's.
She was outright telling him constantly that she didn't want to be led on, that she wanted Mark to follow through with plans. This is literally the bare minimum on Mark's part by the way! She straight up said that she wanted to break up, multiple times, because she didn't like feeling as if she was an unimportant afterthought. Mark promised he would be better. Time and time again, he lied. Obviously unintentionally, but he did lie.
If I was Amber, I would've broken up before a month even passed! She was dealing with this for way longer than anybody should've! The Amber hatred is unnecessary and honestly just racist and misogynistic. Invincible fans will defend a rapist, but draw the line at a black woman reacting fairly to a shitty boyfriend.
Invincible Hot Take:
Mark’s relationship with Amber was way more interesting than his relationship with Eve.
Oh wow a black woman being created as a disposible placeholder for a white woman. I've never seen that before. Oh wait...
Ah yes, the "disposable black girlfriend trope"
