i've learned a lot and i can confidently say i'm a lot more respectful now

I have a canonically intersex OC, and it’s more or less a part of them. It isn’t sexualized in any way, and far from the most important thing about them. And for their species they present both masculine and feminine traits

I’ll do a deep dive into the whole topic to more accurately represent it, but I just wanna see if I’m doing anything wrong first

This is a pretty vague description of your OC, but from what it sounds like it sounds perfectly fine to me!

the doctor that first suggested i had pcos said it and then immediately dismissed it, with his reasoning boiling down to: he'd have to get me an ultrasound, i could just lose weight, and it wouldn't matter until i got pregnant. He then tested me for binge eating disorder, and i tested negative, and then he basically was so skeptical that i felt pressured to change my answers to test positive. then he put me on vyvanse which made me debilitatingly anxious until i came off it and immediately ended up in the psych ward due to severe depression.

i think i was like 14 or 15 when that happened. when i was 17, i nearly goddamn died because of my pcos which, by the way, was being treated - no thanks to him, mind you! i literally had a period last ten weeks and by the ens of it i was so anemic that i needed two iron infusions and i remember like basically almost nothing from that time period. even less than the usual.

and i still haven't been able to get a hysterectomy!!!

This is intermisogyny and fatmisia (note: fatmisia is just another way to say fatphobia since "phobia" is associated with fear, using "misia" which means hatred/disgust is more accurate to how fat people at treated^^).

It's gonna be a queer poly fic with a focus on Rumi, and specifically her experience with not only her demon patterns but also being a stealth transgender woman (her adoptive mother allowed her to transition at around age 7-8, but insisted she must never tell anyone and keep it as secret as possible. The "you're allowed to be queer, just be quiet about it" kind of parent, in a way?). Honestly I'm mostly writing this because I'm part of a system and one of our fictives is a trans rumi 😅 she's a delight she's been so enthusiastic abt getting us back into writing for this it's made us want to write and even maybe possibly post abt fanfic for the first time in actually 7 years!

There was a specific scene we wanted to write, of Rumi finally coming out (it's like. post events of the movies, she's still kind of refusing to reveal her body much like not going to bathhouses and stuff but her two besties gradually help her break down her fears abt coming out fully) and like. She's very scared, insecure, still holding some fears of her mother's of her friends rejecting her because of her identity, maybe says something along the lines of "if you dont want to be around me anymore i get it" (she has. so many self-love and self-acceptance issues bc of being raised Like That) and meanwhile mira is just like "wait girl you mean you DIY'D THAT SHIT???? you made that look from SCRATCH??? girl you look like a goddess!!!!!" to help her feel better abt her appearance

But also, to help her feel better abt some of the traits Rumi is still worrying about being too. clockable i guess? mira mentions she's intersex, and has some similar traits to Rumi and it's just fine. I kind of wanted it to be that she is mulleripathian (is that the right word? memory is beans) for the most part, but has high testosterone levels and other traits related to that. She doesn't have visibly ambiguous genitalia externally, she found out she was intersex later in life due to seeking reproductive care for some reason, probably just regular checkups and normal preventative care type stuff (like checking for cancers and stuff?) revealing some internal variation.

honestly this fic is partially our system protecting in like 3 or 4 different ways. they're all poly. our rumi fictive being the reason we made it, putting herself directly into it. zoey in the fic is 100% autistic&adhd and mira also has adhd and accidentally got some slight anger issues from it. mira's intersex variation is similar to the physical body our system lives in, but we know FAR less than mira will in the fic. hell we can't even get a follow up on that one weird ultrasound. anyway

we just were sending this in because we wanted to know what known kinds of variations could potentially lead to an experience like mira's lol. and our own in a way but some details are different. Some other details were that her being the lowest singer in the group is partially due to the higher T, but also bc she likes having that range a hell of a lot and when she discovered she was starting to be able to sing lower she practiced and developed it a lot lol. She might have an adams apple too? i dont actually know what causes those to develop though. or. really what they are at all to be honest? i am pretty poorly educated on the human body i realise now. sorry for this ask being so dang long btw 😅 lotta guys in this brain trying to get their bit in lol
