Relations: Best friends with Kirith since they joined the ship. They knew each other only in passing at the academy. Awkward friendship with Shrith, but he doesn’t know where they stand.
Harley is a human, born and raised on Earth. He had a challenging childhood and struggled with IED heavily in his elementary school years. He attempted to compensate for his outbursts by being overly self sacrificing and generous when he was in control, which is something he still does even now that he is able to keep his IED under control for the most part.
Harley’s father was half Betazoid and a strong empath, but he was arrested when Harley was twelve and wasn’t in the picture for him as a child.
Harley spent his time at the academy largely tutoring other students and trying to figure out the right dosage and medication for his IED. The side effects from his medications and late night tutoring sessions caused his grades to slip below passing just before he was set to graduate. He was chosen for the Curiosity Program as one of their more promising candidates.
Harley and Kirith bonded quickly once aboard the Curiosity, and Harley made sure to memorize all of Kirith’s medical complications so he could keep helping like he’d always helped everyone. He struggled at first to cope with jealousy and loneliness when Kirith first started to date Shrith, but after an adjustment period, he came around.
In the future, once the Curiosity is disbanded, Harley moves back to Earth, but regularly travels to Andor to visit Kirith, Shrith, Ashas, and Etivias’s kids. (He’s the fun uncle) (he takes them out for sweets way too often)
