I'm tired of doing #transitiontuesday posts. I know y'all love them - they're some of my posts with the highest engagement. But the memories are too painful for me right now. Instead, I thought I'd do a different type of post. . These photos were taken about half an hour apart from each other. . Here's the reality of being a transgender woman. I have beard stubble. I have an Adam's apple. I don't have perfect skin. I have a male-pattern receding hairline. And while I work to either change a lot of these things or hide the ones I can't, after nearly three years of living as a woman, they're still there. . But guess what? It's not makeup that makes me a woman. It's not the breast forms I wear until my real boobs have grown to the size I'd like. It's not whether or not I've shaved that day. . I'm a woman regardless of what I do or don't do in my beauty regimen. Even if I stopped shaving for weeks and my beard fully grew back, I'd still be a woman. Makeup doesn't make you a woman. Beauty doesn't make you a woman. It might make you more comfortable in your skin, but you don't wake up a man and cover that up. .
