@onepagelovestories kindly shared their sliders with me which really fixed his whole bootleg vibe (thank you so much again for that). Also the mod I found that replaces the casual outfit with his coat really helped.

I build things for a living, so I treat every new platform as a teardown. What's the architecture, where are the seams, when does the mask slip. With SweetDream the teardown kept stalling because I couldn't find the seam. The chat stayed natural across long stretches, the personality I authored held firm, and the small details I'd added kept resurfacing on their own.
What got me reflective was the range of presence on offer. Text that actually remembers, voice messages with real texture, phone calls that sound human, and with certain characters, video calls and live cam sessions too. Each layer of an AI companion you can shape yourself, from face to fears to the way she laughs. And all of it stays private, which for me is non-negotiable.
Companies like candy.ai and ourdream.ai are doing interesting work, no question. Still, sweetdream.ai is the one where the demo quietly stopped being a demo. The best AI girlfriend tech, I'm convinced, is the kind you forget to evaluate because you're too busy being present for it.
Inquisitor Anders and Leliana. There's some je ne sais quoi about them like. You're Leliana. You're the Left Hand of the Divine. You've looked for this criminal apostate for years and yet here he is, with the Conclave destroyed and the mark of Andraste on his hand. You cannot help but have noted during your investigation that this Anders helped people for years, before he destroyed the Chantry. You wanted to help people too. You wanted to help people, and so you devoted yourself to the Divine, to dear Justinia, who is now dead. Justinia is dead. You bloodied your hands to protect her for years, while he bloodied his to attack your institution. But why was his hand choosen then? Why was it the one graced with the mark of Andraste? Why was he rewarded with Her power, while all that you fought for was rendered to dust? What does it mean? Did Andraste choose wrong, or did you?
Varric- Varric is instrumental in helping Anders maintain his secret identity as a circle mage called Trevelyan (first name pending if anybody has any ideas). Varric forged documents, convinced a minor noble family they remembered him being their cousin, varric goes all out. He is also extremely extremely mad at Anders still about the whole kirkwall thing. He is getting the privilege of Varrics connections for the sake of being Varrics best friends loser boyfriend. It's an undying loyalty but it is a contentious one
Solas- I am not a solas girlie, but Anders is. He loves this little bald freak he wants to talk to him about spirits and justice. Solas is friendly and likes talking to anders/Justice but I do not think he has a very high opinion of him.
Cole- that's his spirit son! Constantly blowing up his spot, almost revealing the big secret that hes the guy from kirkwall that kicked off this whole war but Anders will be damned if that means Cole is staying home. He looooves this kid.
Blackwall- I think blackwall is a comforting presence to inquisitor anders bc he is a man that Anders knows for sure is also lying about the primary aspects of his identity. I think the more they go out of their way to find warden artifacts Anders gets kinda weirded out bc he can tell that blackwall is just not a warden. But Anders isn't one to be a dick about a guy with a secret identity rn. Blackwall isn't a warden but is pretending to be one and Anders is a warden pretending not to be. All evens out.
Vivienne: I think he recruited her and her loyal mages hoping he could get through to them about why they should hate the circle and want to be free. This does not work. She hates his ass so hard. Maybe at one point he would've put more effort into convincing her but hes a busy guy and she really hates his ass so they mostly just don't talk
Iron bull: imma be real I haven't thought of a good enough reason for Anders to recruit bull. He hears Ben hasserath, remembers Tallis, and would say ur services are not needed thanks tho. (If anybody has anything tho lmk)
Sera- shes got such a kirkwall vibe he makes her feel very nostalgic and a bit homesick. She doesn't like him bc of the magic stuff but she does appreciate that hes also a world class hater of the rich and powerful so eventually they start to get along.
Cassandra- I don't think Anders has ever talked to Cassandra when he didn't have to. Hes scared of her finding out who he is and im trying to figure out the best moment to deploy the secret.
Dorian- I think they vibe, especially now that Anders has cleaned up and isn't a sewer man anymore. They like talking about magic for a long time, and Anders appreciates that hes cool with keeping it all very surface level.

My not-so-secret favorite ship is Dorian x Anders and I adore hurt/comfort (Anders is just so good for it)! So, with that in mind, Iâll suggest âIt would have been a lot easier to treat if youâd mentioned it sooner.â For Dorian x Anders, if youâre up for it!
Thank you so much for this prompt!! Dorian/Anders is ALSO one of my secret favorite ships (although tbh I just love anyone with Anders don't at me... LOL)
Written for @dadrunkwriting featuring Inquisitor Anders, hurt/comfort, getting together
âGods damn it, Dorian,â Anders grits through clenched teeth. He winces as Dorian slides out of his pants fully. Normally, the sight of an attractive man getting naked would bring Anders to his knees.Â
Dorian makes a broken noise, sitting down on the bench, carefully pulling the front of his shirt down to cover his dick while giving Anders the full view of his upper thigh. Theyâd just gotten back from that cursed swampy marsh. Heâs not sure his boots will ever be dry again.Â
Apparently, Dorian took a knife to the upper thigh and instead of telling Anders about it straight away, the handsome mage decided it was fine and would heal on itâs own. Whatâs the point of being the Inquisitor if the people who follow you wonât use your spirit healing for their benefit?
Anders sighs, poking and prodding at the wound. Itâs clearly infected. Probably a mix of undead grossness, swampy muck, and sweat being pressed into the wound inside Dorianâs tight pants. Heâs not sure he can use his magic to pull the infection out. Heâll need to use herbs and once the infection is gone, heâll be able to close it up with his magic.Â
âSee,â Dorian says, his voice clearly strained as he puts on an easy smile. âIt doesnât look all that bad.â
âNot that bad? Are you trying to convince yourself?â
Dorian lets out an awkward chuckle. What is it with Anders falling for men who canât seem to take care of themselves? Something like this could be deadly if theyâre not careful. Blood poisoning is no laughing matter.Â
âThis would have been a lot easier to treat if youâd mentioned it sooner.â
Dorianâs eyes dart away. âI didnât want to be a bother, darling. You were so busy with,â Dorian flicks his wrist in a circle, gesturing around them. âYouâre saving the world. Every day youâre on a new mission, saving lives, healing every soldier you can get your hands on. You deplete your mana until youâre glowing with Justiceâs juices. I didnât want to add anything more to your plate.â
Oh.Â
Andersâ heart skips a beat at the idea of Dorian caring for him. He wanted to protect Anders, even if the idea of hiding an injury is stupid in Andersâ book. Itâs the thought that counts.Â
Anders hums softly, reaching into his bag and bringing out a jar of poultice. âThis is going to hurt,â he says softly before putting a large amount directly into the wound. Dorian whimpers but Anders is careful and uses a tiny bit of magic to soothe the inflammation. Then he wraps up the wound with clean bandages.Â
Sweat drips down the side of Dorianâs brow, his eyes glued to Andersâ face.Â
âIâll need to change these every morning and as soon as the infection has run its course, Iâll be able to properly seal and heal.â
Dorianâs hand touches Andersâ wrist, stopping him from pulling away. âIâm sorry I didnât tell you sooner. I didnât want to be just another burden.â
âDorian,â Anders breathes out. Heâs still on his knees, between Dorianâs legs. Theyâre so close, achingly close, yet at the same time Anders wishes they were closer. âIâm not upset. I was worried. If anything happened to you--â Anders has lost too many people that he loves. He doesnât think heâll survive going through that yet again.Â
It would be better to put distance between them. He canât get hurt if he doesnât love again.Â
Unfortunately, itâs too late for that.Â
âNothing is going to happen to me. Do you really think a little flesh wound could stop the evil magister from Tevinter who surely does blood magic while heâs reading those evil books all night?â
Andersâ eyebrows shoot up to his hairline, unable to stop the surprised chuckle that leaves him. âIs that the current rumor?â
âYes,â Dorian says, raising his nose in the air. âThereâs also a rumor about how Iâm corrupting the Inquisitor.â
âReally? If anything, the abomination is corrupting the mages.â
âNonsense. Iâve seen my fair share of abominations and none of them hold a candle to you. A handsome renegade if Iâve ever seen one.â
âDonât let Varric hear you say that,â Anders says with a smile.
The hand on his wrist moves up to his face, gently cupping his face. âYou have everything on your shoulders, Anders. You do so much for everyone. Who takes care of you?â Anders canât meet Dorianâs eyes. âAh, as I suspected.â
Dorian cups his chin, forcing him to raise his face. âIâm going to kiss you now. Is that agreeable?â
âIs that? By the Maker, Dorian. Yes.âÂ
They lean into each other, their lips meeting. Anders doesnât remember the last time he did something just for him, but this kiss? This is just for him. The world fades away. Thereâs no anchor running up his arm, thereâs no Corypheus, thereâs no demon army. Thereâs just Dorian and Anders.Â
âEvery time I love, it ends in disaster,â Anders whispers against Dorianâs lips. Despite how perfect this moment is, he feels like he has to warn Dorian.Â
Dorian huffs against his lips. âWeâve only just started and youâre already planning on it ending?â
âI donât want to hurt you.â
âItâs okay if you do. Youâre the best healer I know. Let yourself have this. Let me have this. Youâre not the only one who hasnât let himself imagine love.â
Anders wants to fight against this but he canât. Dorian is right. Thereâs no guarantee of tomorrow, so why not embrace the here and now. This might not last but thatâs no reason to cut it off before it even has time to bloom.Â
Instead of fighting, Anders embraces these feelings welling up inside his chest. He grabs the back of Dorianâs neck and kisses him again.Â

The village of Haven is alight with singing, dancing, and laughter. Bonfires chase away the southern chill, the glow adding further warmth to the festivities and merriment. Anders stands on the incline towards the chantry with Cassandra at his side, surveying it all with a dual sense of disbelief and hope; perhaps the longer he watches the freed mages revelling in their victory, the easier it will be to internalize that they made it. Theyâre alive, theyâre free, and that cannot be taken away from them anymore.
Then, the moment shatters.
Clanging splits through the night, drowning out all else. The signal bells. While icy dread creeps up Andersâ spine, the ringing reverberates in his ears. Between one moment and the next, the village of Haven turns from celebration to mayhem and panic, the soldiers and mages taking arms while civilians flee from an unknown threat.
Anders gazes up at the mountain ranges to the north-east with wide eyes, his staff already in hand. Little spots of light from carried torches are all that stand out against darkness and endless snow, but the beat of marching forces drawing nearer is unmistakeable.
It couldnât be so easy, of course. The Breach is closed, but the fight isnât over.
Cassandra, her sword unsheathed, is already flying down the steps towards the lakeside gates of Haven. Anders hurries after her, passing through the whirlwind of everyone rushing in all directions, the cries of fear lifting into the night air. Justice simmers beneath the surface of his mind, on edge, preparing to defend.
They find the trio of advisors by the gate, Cassandra seeking more information while Anders tries to make out any distinctive features of the force descending the mountain pass in the distance.
From beyond the gate, he hears a scuffle; several pairs of boots in the snow, the clash of metal, a yellâ
Something slams into the doors hard enough to rattle it on its great hinges. Blue light flashes beneath it. Another bang, then silence.
âWe canât come in unless you open!â a voice calls from the other side.
Anders has no clue what to make of it, but he rushes towards the doors all the same; whatever is going on, they need answers. The soldier on guard obligingly pushes the gate open for him, allowing him to dart through.
Bodies lie on the blood-splattered snow, each of them donning a suit of templar armour. In the middle of them stands yet another templar, their thick cuirass emblazoned with the flaming sword and their helm obscuring all personal features, forming one of the faceless, impenetrable jailors that Anders has spent most of his life running from.
Rage flaring through his veins, Anders swings his staff around and slams it into the ground, sending a strike of lightning upon the templar. Even here, he thinks with a blend of irritation, resignation, and despair, he is not free from being hunted. A Seeker may believe he was sent by Andraste, but that doesnât mean the rest agree with her.
The templar grunts as the lightning crackles across the heavy armour, spreading paralyzing sparks. Satisfaction soothes Andersâ nerves when the templarâs grip on their greatsword goes slack and they stagger, one knee slamming into the disturbed snow.
âWait!â that same voice from before cries.
Anders startles at the appearance of another from behind the templar, revealed as the bulky armour no longer blocks him from view. This one is no templarâheâs in patchwork linens and leathers, his deathly-pale face almost entirely obscured by a wide-brimmed hat.
âExplain yourself!â Anders orders as he brandishes his staff again, ready to bring more lightning down if he must. No templar will get the better of him again.
âMy name is Cole,â the slighter figure says. He steps forward, hands raised and palms out in surrender.
The templar drops the sword into the snow, then lifts their hands to their helmet.
Anders bares his teeth, his grip tightening on his staff. He isnât sure which of them to focus on; the threat of a templar is obvious, while the otherâColeâis too much of an unknown, leaving both Anders and Justice wary.
âWe came to warn you. There are people trying to kill you. You probably already know that,â Cole continues.
âWe?â Anders repeats.
The templar wrenches the helmet off, tossing it away, and Anders goes stock still, eyes widening.
Stark white hair grown longer than when Anders last saw it, now swept back into a braid revealing a trio of lyrium dots against dark skin that used to be obscured by bangs. Familiar green eyes meet Andersâ for the first time since that calamitous night in Kirkwall. Eyes that glared at him with fury, derision, and hurt.
Fenris looks at him with less reproach now, but no gentleness has replaced it; his gaze is flat, guarded. Anders can only stare at him, stunned, unsure.
Cole strides forward again, saying something about the Elder One and the templars. The Commander appears at Andersâ side, making Anders bristle, finally rousing him from watching Fenris in disbelief.
While Cole and Cullen speak, Anders takes a tentative step forward, returning his attention to Fenris. He looks down at the blazing sword upon Fenrisâ chest, a new surge of anger coursing through him. âYou became a templar?â he asks. âAfter everything, after⌠youâŚâ
He clutches his staff, torn between guilt for unknowingly striking Fenris and wanting to strike him again for this new betrayal.
âNo,â Fenris says, speaking for the first time. The sound of his deep voice makes Andersâ chest twist. âThe armour was only a means to an end. It was how Cole and I escaped.â
âEscaped?â Anders echoes, his tone becoming embarrassingly shrill.
âWe donât have time to discuss it,â Fenris says. He grasps his sword againâand now that Anders takes the time to focus on it, he recognizes it as a Sword of Mercyâusing it to push himself back onto his feet. He stumbles even with the crutch, still shaking off the lightning.
Despite himself, Anders darts forward to catch him, one hand still holding his staff while the other goes around Fenrisâ waist.
Fenris exhales softly, like relief. He wraps an arm around Andersâ back. âI was coming to find you,â he says, barely above a whisper, like heâs sharing a secret.
Andersâ breath catches in his throat.
After Kirkwall, Anders thought the only way heâd ever see Fenris again would be as the warriorâs prey, just like the templars, like Vael. What he and Fenris used to have, the peace theyâd managed to carve out for themselvesâAnders understood that his actions shattered it just as thoroughly as he brought the Kirkwall chantry to ruin. Anders had expected it, had tried to prepare himself for it, but that hadnât dulled the pain in the slightest when the inevitable came to pass.
Heâd shown Fenris a different side to mages, and thenâ
But Fenrisâ tone does not suggest that he was coming to kill Anders. Quite the opposite. Thereâs an aching regret in his voice that Anders never dared to hope for.
Anders wants to be angryâpart of him still is angryâbut it has been four years, the last couple months have changed everything, and he just misses Fenris so incredibly much. If Fenris heard about the Conclave and took up the opportunity to finally close the distance he put between them⌠thatâs enough for Anders to clutch him a little tighter, even with the terrible templar armour stuck between them.
Neither of them gets the chance to say anything else. The Elder Oneâs army is upon them. Corypheusâ army. The blighted magister that should already be dead.
As they all hurry back through the gates into the village, Fenris straightens up, able to move under his own power, but he doesnât pull away from Andersâ side.
âSorry about the lightning,â Anders says.
Expression grim, Fenris says, âI understand.â
âCan you still fight?â
Now, Fenris scoffs as if offended. âYou know me better than that.â
A small smile forms on Andersâ face. He does know Fenrisâ abilities well. The two of them are matched in resilience. The kind of resilience born of always looking over oneâs shoulder, needing to be ready to fight for freedom at any moment.
The group of people Anders has been travelling with since first being named the Herald of Andraste are waiting for them.
Anders glances at Fenris, then at the others. âSolas and Sera, with us. The rest of you, protect the villagers.â
They spread out, Anders leading his team to the north trebuchet. The templars are on them almost instantly, breaching the walls and storming towards them. With a sickened lurch in Andersâ stomach, he notices that unlike Fenrisâ pristine armour, these templars are corrupted, infected: growths of red lyrium spike through the plates, emerging from the flesh beneath. Some of them glow an ominous red, like a sharp counterpoint to Justiceâs pure blue aura.
Fenris contrasts them as well, his familiar ethereal tone feeling right when Anders catches sight of him phasing through the battlefield, cutting down templars with deadly efficiency. Fighting alongside each other again brings Anders a sense of home, even as the differences around them remain jarring.
Together with Solas and Sera, they cut through the onslaught, then proceed to the south trebuchet, preparing it for launch when thereâs a second to breathe. Their efforts are rewarded when they bury a swath of the templars in an avalanche.
But their victory is short-lived when the night is split with the deafening roar of a dragon, its wingbeats growing louder as it emerges from the mountains, bearing down on them. Corypheus didnât have a dragon last time.
Thereâs nothing to do but retreat.
As they hurry through the village, helping the stragglers along the way, Fenris remains close to Anders, the two of them naturally guarding each otherâs flanks. For brief moments through the fight, Anders can feel like nothing ever broke between them.
When they make it into the relative safety of the chantry and convene with the Commander and Cole, it quickly becomes clear that the only way for everyone to escape through the passage Roderick reveals to them is with a miracle or a very significant distraction.
Andersâ eyes go unseeing as he processes, still breathing hard from the fight. He knows what must be done.
It is the right thing to do, Justice agrees.
Anders would have liked to do more before his end, but that heâs still standing after Kirkwall is already more than he bargained for. That he got to offer the mage rebellion safety and support is already more than he dreamed of back when the most he could grasp at was a catalyst for change.
And the Calling is upon him. His time is limited, whether it comes now or in a month. Better to die under the open skies than suffocated within the Deep Roads.
âIf Corypheus is here for me, Iâll make him fight for it,â Anders says.
Cullen narrows his eyes at Anders, ever suspicious even after Anders has dutifully played the role of Herald just like the advisors want. âAnd when the mountain falls? What about you?â
âOh, donât pretend youâll mourn me,â Anders snaps.
âAnders.â Fenris grasps Andersâ arm, drawing his attention away from the Commander. With Fenris, itâs clear he does care what happens to Anders. His brow is pinched, his lips pressed into a firm line.
Anders forces a smile. âIâve survived worse odds.â
The words only make Fenrisâ expression tighten further, a flicker of pain in his eyes. âThen I will go with you.â
Andersâ chest clenches. âFenrisâŚâ
âI will not abandon you a second time.â
Emotion lodges in Andersâ throat; the back of his eyes prickle. One phrase, spoken with Fenrisâ strong, unyielding determination, and Anders is ready to crumple into his arms, to melt into him and forget all the time they spent apart, the hurt and grief washed away.
Unable to hold back, Anders leans into Fenris, dipping his head down as he reaches to cup the back of Fenrisâ head with his free hand. His fingers slide over the soft strands of Fenrisâ braided hair as they meet, Fenris pressing just as close to share their first kiss since the Kirkwall chantry fell.
Anders doesnât care about their audience. He doesnât care that they hardly have time to spare. He doesnât care that they might both die in the coming minutes. He wants to commit the feeling of Fenrisâ lips against his own to memory, for as long as that memory may last.
Still, they must break apart before long, but when they do so, Anders feels bolstered and full of fire. âLetâs go see if we can kill that bastard. Again,â he says.
Fenris smirks, eagerness crossing his features.
They turn for the great doors of the chantry together. Solas and Sera wordlessly fall back into step with them, warming Andersâ chest further.
The odds are bleak, but as Anders pushes through the doors into the snowy night and their last stand, he dares to believe theyâll make it through this one alive.
