I don’t think it should be considered “drama” or “digging up the past” when people of color are upset by the acts of racism and micro aggressions exhibited by Gooseworx and Glitch Studios. Apply this to any other act of racism or micro aggressions people of color have suffered. Would you respond “It was insert number many years ago, get over it.”
No? So why do the same around TADC/Gooseworx?
I’m not saying this is the most important issue people of color face by any means at all. What I am saying is people of color are allowed to be upset, annoyed and vent about this situation if they choose or desire to, especially as previous fans of Gooseworxs & Glitch Studios.
White people don’t get to dismiss the impacts of racism or how long is “acceptable” for people of color to have negative feelings about Gooseworx and Glitch. Stop driving this topic into the ground as “pervasive lolcow social justice culture full of whiney people wanting to ruin indie creators who aren’t big evil mega corporations.”
No one has properly apologized, indie artists don’t get a free pass from accountability or criticism because they are indie.
Spotting a few new faces on the Misce+ tag. Caw, sup.
Some of you don’t have an indicator of being either a minor or an adult. I’m not sure who to follow as I don’t want to accidentally follow kids.
Turning it over in my head I’ve come to the conclusion the queer community is not ready or progressive enough to address its rampant TGNCphobia. It struggles to separate man from masculinity, male (gender) from the binary and unfortunately within non binary spaces there are pockets of gatekeeping exclusivity on what genders one is allowed to have or use when talking about exorsexism.
Add this all into the giant melting pot of an extremely transphobic and intersexist political landscape — I need to make a change for myself. That change while small that holds no bearing to anyone else is simply the act of using the word Virr and Virrhood alongside the word male and manhood.
I still identify as a man, I still believe manhood and male (gender) can be detached from the binary without having to be “one binary gender and something else” to be validated as a gender not strangled to death in a binary framework. The queer community as a whole isn’t ready for this and until it is I think finding pride, identification and empowerment through man-aligned gendered language unaffiliated with the binary would be a very freeing experience for me.
Just to clear something up real quick— the Misce+ community is not a kink and I’ll warn anyone who isn’t familiar with this community or are new to it that those outside of it most likely mistake it as a kink. So minors this little portion goes out to you. Be safe online and if anyone is sexualizing you or otherwise acting inappropriate over your Misce+ identity? Set hard boundaries and if you need to go ahead and block whoever is giving you trouble.
Misce+ otherwise known by its subsets under the acronyms umbrella— miscefolk, misceanimalis, essenti and mystiori is a subculture for real people and CDD system parts who experience natural, involuntary behaviors including emotional, mental, physical, and social instincts that mirror what you find in the Omegaverse fic genre. While there's an obvious connection, Misce+ is not just the Omegaverse genre fandom rebranded. (Due to this common mistake is part of the reason the term Misceverse fell out of favor.)
Let me be crystal clear there's absolutely nothing wrong with people who simply just enjoy the fic genre or want to play out Omegaverse tropes for sexual fulfillment in the bedroom. I'm just drawing a line in the sand so people don't get the wrong idea. It would be like for example dismissing the entire therian community as nothing more than a kink or animal larping, when it's actually a legitimate subculture with real depth.

Still in goddamned awe myself that I not only made a whole flag on just my phone with nothing but a limited knowledge of Ibispaint, I also made a gender symbol using nothing but my damn phone.
I forgot to add the color meanings to the Virrerrō flag. I’ll drop them here then go back and edit my post.
Dark Teal — Symbolizes inner stability, self awareness, and genuine self expression true to oneself.
Emerald green —Symbolizes growth, renewal, new beginnings, compassion, emotional healing, and enhancing connection with oneself and one’s gender.
White — Symbolizes openness, healing, protection as well as remembrance for those in the community we’ve lost.
Chartreuse — Symbolizes serves to represent the distinct qualities of each Virerro individual and the acceptance of all male-aligned, male-adjacent individuals without judgement or prejudice regardless of their gender presentation, gender expression, pronouns or sexuality. Chartreuse is meant to encompass the divorce of male (gender) and male adjacent or male aligned genders from the binary and binary qualities associated with manhood.
Charcoal black — Symbolizes resilience, transformation, wisdom and longevity.
Grey purple (left) — Symbolizes Non human Virerro beings.
Dark purple (middle) — Symbolizes harmony between both humans and non humans under the Virerro identity.
Light purple (right) — Symbolizes Human Virrerro identifying individuals.
You know that whole "separate the art from the artist" thing? Or "separate the fandom from the author"? Yeah we all know how this phrase rarely works as most of the time it’s utilized as just an excuse people use to keep supporting bigoted, transphobic, racist assholes.
What I wish people would do with this phrasing is get more comfortable saying "separate the kintype from the fandom and source material." Seriously, imagine how much drama we'd avoid if people actually did this.
If you're "kinning" as a hobby or "for fun" and it's not actually a psychological or spiritual part of who you are, you're just a really enthusiastic fan. The kin community would be so much better off especially for minors if we stopped equating source media with a person's actual morals and values, use nuance and critical thinking skills here please . Someones worth or whether they are a good or bad person isn't determined by what their kintype does or doesn't do in some fictional story. What matters is what they, as an actual person, are doing right now in this life.
The same goes for the system community and fictional introjects. People need to stop judging introjects based on their source material and start looking at who they are as parts of whole individuals right now.
