I was walking to the bus stop after the beach in my bikini with a towel over my shoulders to cover up (from the sun bc im very pale) and when i got there I took my clothes from the beach bag to put them over my bikini since im going on PUBLIC transportation after all, all the weird folks are there!! i was with my grandpa, he was holding the bag for me. and like, it's a beach city so nobody gives a damn about people in bathing suits near the beach areaβ¦ there were 2 or 3 boys around my age, they didnt stare, didnt make me feel awkward AT ALL, a few women were there too. some old lady looked at me funky when I was dressing but I think she was just kinda mentally not-so-stable. there was one person who judged me. you'd probably think it was a m*n or a middle aged woman since they tend to hate teenage girls. if you voted for the woman you're almost right. it was a child. a little girl. couldn't have been older than 7. when I took off that towel her jaw fell to the ground and she immediately turned to her grandmother: "grandma, why is this girlβ". i couldn't hear the rest but her grandma just looked at me with a sympathetic smile and turned her granddaughter away from me. ... did i scandalize a child?
I dont blame the girl. I blame society. why does this kid in a pink strawberries dress have internalized misogyny + purity/modesty culture beliefs. SHES NOT TO BLAME, IM NOT JUDGING HER. im glad she saw me like that. lets normalize this shit.
