The ranger jumped back with the aggressive turn from the beast. The troll was massive, not unlike other kind he had seen. Any other time he would have expected an immediate fight. Aragorn was prepared to do so, but this one already seemed to be in distress. A coil trap, caught around their wrist. The pulling and yanking had already caused it to cut significantly deeper and no doubt caused the creature more pain.
Aragorn took no offense to the snap that came, only backing up a moment before edging forward again. His hand stretched out carefully, keeping his eyes gentle and his posture opened for them. No quick movements. Gentle words were whispered in elvish to try and get the focus on himself instead of the distress at hand. “Easy...It’s alright.” He hushed and finally came within distance to touch the troll. This troll was unlike any other he’d ever seen, but the questions could wait.
Once he’d gotten close enough a low rumble left the troll, whining in pain. “I’ve got you..” He hushed again as his hand finally laid upon his snout. A warm hand soothed and rubbed before he moved to the effected area. Once close enough he was able to make short work of the coil wrapped around. It was no doubt the fright of it that had made it worse.
“There you are...I suppose we can take this as friends, for now.” He mumbled cautiously. “Men have all manner of wicked traps. You must forgive them.” He shook his head, disposing of the coil.
