He’s so delicate, she wishes he wasn’t. Those blue eyes of his were too similar. She shouldn’t have come. It had been barely three days since WRA was put on her chest. John was so very, very angry he hadn’t gotten to finish his work. Saying something that he wanted to finish her atonement before finishing off her sin. 

“I’m happy you weren’t.” What would he have done? Realistically? Objectively, he would have been horrified, but there was nothing he could really do. Joseph set an ultimatum for John and now he would do anything to fulfill it. She took a slow breath in, bowing her head to press her forehead against his shoulder, “I’m not gonna be in the Valley for a while. He’s gonna be lookin’ for me to finish this. So I won’t be seein’ you for a bit.” 

Don’t give him names or locations. Don’t give him exact time tables. Don’t make him an accomplice to you. Don’t give him information he could give to anyone else. 

       what would he have done had he been there ?? he’s not sure but that doesn’t make him feel any less guilt about what’s been done to her by his own flesh and blood . as the days go on , he understands why the deputy is here and why they brought in the marshall . his family is far too dangerous , that much he knows . 

❝  i understand , ❞ does he though ?? isn’t this the safest place for her ?? john won’t look for her here and if he knows then he’d not interrupt . there’s still an air of innocence his brother wants for paul to see , even if he knows better by now .
