the rose and red color represent smell and unity between people with different smell conditions. the wavy line also represents smell and the differences between ablility to smell or diffences in someones sense of smell. the colors correspond to the stripes in my smell disorder umbrella flag (link) and represent each specific condition
anosmia - complete lack of smell
hyposmia - lessened ability to smell
parosmia - brain incorrectly identifies smells, eg. a pie might smell like chemicals
phantosmia - smelling things that aren't there, olfactory hallucinations
dysosmia - any difference in smell that isn't a difference in the amount of smell being sensed. basically an umbrella for parosmia and phantosmia
I love to watch TV at night and tonight is Castle night!! My favorite Castle episode, The Nose, was on tonight so I'm posting about it because my blog is about me and what I like, and this is something I enjoy immensely...
I love this character, Mia Laszlo!! She has hyperosmia, which is an extremely heightened sense of smell. She works with Castle to sniff out the guilty party who committed the murder she witnessed. They make a very fun pair of crime solvers!! I love her process to decontaminate Castle so he will not smell and he can go into her apartment!!🤣🤣🤣
She creates scents for perfumes and colognes and the like...
Castle wants her to go to the 12th precinct with him to sniff out the culprit, but she refused so he farts to get her out of her apartment!! 🤣🤣🤣 Her reaction is hilarious 😂
She then participates in a smell line up... Castle finds that so fascinating that he has to be pulled away...
They then pursue a lead together at a car dealership....

it's almost 3:30 AM and my sleep schedule is probably gonna be even more fucked after working on an over 3000+ word chapter of my current fic series and this fic right here but whatever i got vacation anyways.

“Fuck off! I genuinely mean it if you don’t want me to break your nose or something!”
Mick screamed while covering his mouth and nose with his shirt and trying to keep a distance from Chris, which was hard when he was chasing after him with a bottle of deodorant.
Chris has found out that Mick seems to be really sensitive to strong smells, especially to perfume and strong deodorant. So of course, like the little bitch he is, he told everyone else and now he was chasing after Mick to tease him. Surprisingly he wasn’t scared of him when he had his deodorant with him, otherwise he would’ve already run for his life.
“What am I doing? I’m just spraying myself with deo so I don’t smell, we literally just ended the concert half an hour ago.”
Chris said with a smug smile and started spraying the deodorant around his body in a dose that made even him cough a little. But unlike him Mick didn’t just cough a little, he started coughing violently like someone was ripping out his lung.
Being in a small ass room was also not ideal. Chris didn’t expect Mick to be gasping for air like that. Mick was now kneeing down and started coughing even more. This was the moment Chris probably fucked up. Just as Jim also walked into the room Mick started vomiting.
“Oh shit.”
Chris mumbled to himself.
This was not good. Why did Jim have to walk in right now? He was the only one along side joey and Paul who didn’t find this funny. It probably looked really bad on him standing in front of Mick with a bottle of deodorant doing nothing while he was vomiting all over the place and the whole room smelling like the whole deodorant bottle exploded. At least the room didn’t smell like vomit.
“What the fuck are you doing?!”
“I uhmm.”
Chris didn’t know what to say. Any lie he could come up with would be unbelievable anyways, looking at how he was standing there with a bottle of deodorant in his hand.
“I told you this is not something to fuck around with!”
Jim shouted while going past Chris to help Mick. He kneed down next to him.
“Hey man I’ll help you up. C’mon.”
Jim grabbed Mick under his arms to support him. Mick’s whole body was shaking. He never has a reaction as bad as this one to any kind of smell. Jim put the hair that was falling in front of Mick’s face behind his ears so he could see. Mick had slight problems walking due to being so shaky but with Jim’s support it went fine.
Chris was still standing where he was before, not knowing what to do. Jim and Mick slowly went towards the door. Chris felt like he should at least apologize if he didn’t know how to help.
“Hey man I’m sorry… I didn’t know it would’ve gotten that bad.”
Mick stood still for some time, forcing Jim to also stop walking.
“wh- when I’m bet- ter.. I- I’ll fuck- ing kill you…”
Mick said between coughs. Just as they wanted to continue walking Mick had to vomit again. But this time blood was also included.
“Oh shit! This is your fault you little bastard!”
Jim shouted even louder than before. He didn’t care if parts of the vomit landed on his shoe, he just wanted Mick to be okay and that Chris would pay for his actions later.
“Go get some help, after that you’ll clean this mess! All of this is your fault!”
“Ok…”
Chris ran out of the room making his way to the others.
“Hey man it’s ok.”
“y- your… sh- shoes…”
“it’s alright I can get them washed or just get new ones. no big deal. “
Jim responded in a soft voice hoping to calm his friend down.
“You wanna sit down?”
Mick didn’t respond for a moment due to having to cough a few times again.
“y- yeah…”
Jim helped Mick to sit down on one of the chairs that were stored in the room. While doing this he remembered he had a pack of tissues in one of his pockets. He grabbed the pack from his pocket and pulled a tissue out.
“Is it ok if I, y’know?”
Mick just nodded. He felt too nauseous to talk right now.
Jim went with the tissue over Mick’s face, wiping some of the vomit and blood away. One tissue certainly wasn’t enough. After about using two more tissues Mick looked fine again, at least a little. He still had some vomit stains left on his shirt, felt extremely nauseous and had to cough here and there again.
Jim patted him on his back every time he had to cough. He was wondering what was taking the others so long. Getting lost was very unlikely. Maybe they were looking for a first aid kit. But thinking about it a first aid kit couldn’t help them much since they’re mostly usable for open wounds. Some towels would be more helpful.
After waiting for a few more minutes he could hear Coreys voice from the hallway. He went to the doorway to lead them in.
“we’re here!”
He shouted trough the hallway.
Corey, Joey, Shawn, Paul ran towards him. Jim led them into the room where Mick was sitting in the chair leaning his head against the wall.
“Chris told us what happened.”
Said Corey while walking past Jim into the room.
“Everything?”
Jim asked to make sure Chris didn’t lie to them about what happened
“Yeah. He told us he may have sprayed with too much deodorant and Mick started vomiting.”
“that’s pretty much what happened.”
“I told him this wasn’t funny.”
Joey chimed in angrily.
“Craig and Sid are with Chris, making sure he isn’t going to hide from us. Paul already gave him a slap.”
Joey explained.
“a well deserved one.”
Paul responded while helping Shawn pick up Mick who was losing consciousness. They carried Mick to the tour bus to lay him down and give him an ice pack and something to drink. Jim, Corey and Joey followed them.
Sid, Craig and Chris were already waiting next to the tour bus.
“Is he okay?”
Sid asked
“I think generally yes, he just lost consciousness. Nothing’s missing he just needs to rest.”
Shawn responded while carrying Mick inside with Paul. Chris felt extremely bad after hearing that Mick lost his consciousness and kept on staring on the floor.
“So, who’s gonna beat Chris up now?”
Corey asked already forming his fists.
“Mick when he’s gained his consciousness back again.”
Jim responded while giving Chris a dirty look. He was definitely fucked.
“let’s just go inside. It’s already dark outside and it’s getting cold. We can settle this tomorrow. Mick is unconscious right now anyway so I don’t think he’ll beat Chris up anytime soon.”
Joey said while shaking a little and wrapping his arms around himself.
“joey’s right lets just go inside and settle this tomorrow. I’m also tired.”
Jim responded.
He went into the bus. One by one the others followed him. Most of them were going into their bunk beds to sleep. Except craig, who was brushing his teeth before going to sleep because he’s the only one who actually cares about that, and Jim who checked on Mick one more time. He was breathing normally and seemed fine. The only thing that bothered him that Mick was still wearing his vomit stained shirt.
He decided to take it off from him. He also wouldn’t want to wake up with a vomit stained shirt after losing consciousness. He slowly sat Mick up, and pulled his shirt up, putting his arms trough one sleeve after the other. He laid Mick back down and went to get an ice pack for his head. He threw the shirt into a basket with any other kinds of dirty clothes. Thinking about the vomit stain, he remembered Chris still had to clean the room. But he didn’t want to deal with this right now. Tomorrow’s another day too.
“Ooo you got something going on with him?”
Sid asked Jim teasingly who was on the other side on the top bunk bed watching Jim put off Mick’s shirt.
“Shut up! You probably also wouldn’t feel so amused if you’d wake up with a vomit stained shirt after losing consciousness.”
Sid rolled over
“yeah yeah not like this has never happened to me.”
Jim just ignored him. Craig now also went to bed so Jim should probably too. He was the last one still walking around in the bus. It was already past midnight and he figured if he didn’t get sleep soon he might also lose his consciousness. Per coincidence his bunk bed was on top of Mick’s so if anything happens he would be right there.
But thinking about Sid’s words again, was he feeling something for Mick? He’s been with him the whole time. His head was spinning. What was he feeling? He didn’t want to think about this now, otherwise he’d never get to sleep this night. He just closed his eyes hoping he would fall asleep soon. After a while, he finally did.
Anyone else experience hyperosmia (heightened sense of smell)? I've always had it. It's become stronger after three pregnancies, over the years. My husband affectionately calls me 'Wolverine' (X-Men). Tonight I was hanging out with our youngest (13) & can smell 'sick' on her. She admitted she has a very minor sinus infection. You can't even tell, but it weirded her out I could smell it. I've always been like this. 😅
Now my sweater smells like her 'sick'. No one else can smell it. But I can. 🙄😂

Does this guy really have a drinking problem or is he trying to set up a nightly habit so he can get out of baby care before bedtime? Either way he’s selfish.
This is weird and kinda gross but I'm curious. Is anyone else able to smell that odor people give off when they're sick? It's a particular smell and it's really gross to me. Since I'm getting over the flu I can smell it on everything I've used and I have to wash things constantly. I can smell it on other people, too when they're sick. My mom is the same way. Now, I've always had a strong sense of smell but there must be other people who experience this?
