I’ve officially begun writing one of the most personal and emotionally honest books I have ever worked on.

The World I Would Build Hunger, Humanity, Wealth, Money, and Power A Human Story

This book began with a simple question: “What would you do if you had unlimited funds?”

And my answer was never luxury.

It was never yachts. Never private islands. Never status.

My answer was: I would feed people.

I would plant fruit trees in empty lots. I would create public gardens and food forests. I would make sure people had clean water, medicine, warmth, dignity, and a safe place to sleep. I would hire people to restore ecosystems instead of destroying them. I would build systems centered around sustaining life instead of monetizing survival.

Because I genuinely cannot emotionally reconcile living on a planet with this much abundance while human beings starve, freeze, suffer, and die from preventable deprivation.

This book is not about hating humanity. It is about loving humanity deeply enough to question the systems we have normalized.

It is about grief. Compassion. Power. Community. Stewardship. And asking: “What if survival itself was never meant to be commodified?”

The deeper I write, the more I realize this is becoming part philosophical reflection, part social commentary, part human story, and part love letter to people who are simply trying to survive modern life with their softness still intact.

This will be one of the rawest things I’ve ever written.

And I think it may also be one of the most important.

Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in America, was initially structured under a communal system dictated by the Virginia Company, which financed the venture. Under this arrangement, all land, resources, and produce were held collectively. Settlers were expected to work together, pooling their labor to grow crops and build infrastructure, with the fruits of their efforts distributed equally among the group. Private property was virtually nonexistent, and individual profit motives were suppressed in favor of the collective good...

Historical accounts, including those from Captain John Smith, the colony’s leader, paint a grim picture of laziness, infighting, and starvation. Smith famously declared, “He that will not work shall not eat,” a policy born out of necessity when he observed that many settlers refused to contribute to the communal effort. Without personal incentives, productivity plummeted. Men saw little reason to toil in the fields or hunt when their efforts benefited slackers as much as themselves.

By 1609, the colony teetered on the brink of collapse during the infamous “Starving Time,” when food shortages and disease reduced the population from over 500 to just 60 in a single winter. The communal system exacerbated the crisis, as it failed to account for human nature—specifically, the desire for reward tied to effort.

In 1611, the Virginia Company abandoned the socialist model, introducing private land ownership and allowing settlers to keep what they produced. Almost immediately, agricultural output surged, and the colony began to stabilize. The shift to individual enterprise proved a lifeline, demonstrating that self-interest, when harnessed, could drive progress where collectivism had faltered.
