Hot home from Volunteering at The Pet Project (@petproject4pets) a few minutes ago 😊
Banjo's 🐶 still here and still has a lot to say 😄
Banjo 🐶 is up for adoption BTW.
I also saw at least 2-3 Blue Land Crabs (Cardisoma guanhumi) 🦀
I brought pet supplies to people's cars, cleaned dog bowls, swept the floors, and other cool things ☺️
Currently on my way to The Pet Project for volunteering ☺️
While on the way i saw these Beautiful Modern Day Dinosaurs:
•A Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) 🐦
•A Family of Peacocks (Pavo cristatus) 🦚
•A Flock of Chickens (Gallus gallus domesticus) 🐔
Hope Y'all Enjoy your day 😄
Zeus is a Pittie in a Blanket
Hope Y'all Enjoy your morning 😄
And each time it gets called Gorgonopsid 😅
You can definitely see a huge jump in accuracy from Primeval to Surviving Earth ☺️
Inostrancevia is an extinct genus of large carnivorous therapsids which lived during the Late Permian in what is now European Russia and Southern Africa. The first-known fossils of this gorgonopsian were discovered in the context of a long series of excavations carried out from 1899 to 1914 in the Northern Dvina, Russia. (Source: Wikipedia)

Just got done watching Surviving Earth Episode 1 - "When the Earth Burned"
I finally found NBC 😊😄
Honestly, I liked it a lot ☺️
I think the animals were well animated and their portrayals were fairly accurate, though I fell like the Rival Inostrancevia was a little too focused on that particular family of Gorgons for a little too long, realistically.
The young Inostrancevia was rather adorable ☺️
The part were the Elph was playing dead made me chuckle a little bit 🤣 . I noticed their behavior seems to be inspired by Prairie Dogs, just like in Walking with Monsters (which was also made by Impossible Pictures).
The use of Protopterosaurus, a speculative/fictionalized Pterosaur ancestor, reminds me of the Protomosasaurus from Amazing DinoWorld. Kinda weird they didn't use a real species from that middle Triassic. Personally, I would've skipped the pterosaurs and showcased a descendant of the surviving dicynodont's from the earlier Permian, probably something like Kannemeyeria or Dinodontosaurus.
I like how the Great Dying isn't portrayed as just one big volcanic explosion, but a slow death caused by the release of carbon dioxide and other toxic gasses from the siberian traps (and other volcanos) causing global warming and the destruction of the ozone layer causing extinctions even before the big eruption we all know.
The Elph were by far my favorite animals from this episode, followed by Suminia and then the Dongusuchus.
I like how at the end when talking about The 6th Mass Extinction and modern day Climate Change & Global Warming they don't just say Land/Tree Forests are the only carbon sink, they also mention Sea Grass Meadows (and oceans in general) as well as Peat Bogs.
Overall, i give this a 8.5/10. I highly recommend checking it out. You can find it on NBC and Peacock.
I highly recommend checking out Dino Guy's Review on YouTube. It's definitely more in-depth, especially in terms of the science.
I'm also excited to hear Unnatural History Channel's thoughts on Surviving Earth (assuming he makes a video on it)
I wanna thank Tim Haines & Impossible Pictures Productions/Loud Minds TV for creating this Beautiful series.
"How do I commission you?" Since I've noticed an uptick of folks asking me about commissions, I've taken the time to set up my Vgen!
Check out Ryvn's commissions and portfolio! | Paleo-illustrator I specialize in primarily dinosaurs! This profile is a work in progress ...
If you're interested in any commissions from me (like the one above) feel free to check it out :) Prior to Vgen I used discord for commissions and that got very disorganized, very quickly. It was very easy to lose track of who commissioned me and what, so this will help me out a ton in regards to organization and communication T_T
An international team of scientists led by Dr. Graciela Delvene of the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (CSIC) has uncovered the old
An international team of scientists led by Dr. Graciela Delvene of the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (CSIC) has uncovered the oldest known evidence of maternal care in shellfish, revealing that some freshwater species were protecting and incubating their young more than 125 million years ago. Published today in Scientific Reports, the new research found fossilized soft tissues preserved inside ancient shells. This is a remarkable discovery because such tissues normally decay soon after an animal dies. Among these tissues were microscopic embryos and larvae preserved within the gills.

Zeus had a great day today ☺️
He went to both Oakland Bark Dog Park & Easterlin Park
While ar Easterlin, Zeus saw some amazing creatures including:
•A White Ibis (Eudocimus albus)
•A White Peacock (Anartia jatrophae) 🦋
•A few Four-spotted Pennants (Brachymesia gravida)
•2 Muscovy Ducks (Cairina moschata domestica) 🦆

Carcinology, from Ancient Greek καρκίνος (karkínos), meaning "crab", and λόγος (lógos), meaning "study", is a branch of zoology that consists of the study of crustaceans. Crustaceans are a large traditional subphylum of arthropods classified by having a hard exoskeleton made of chitin or chitin and calcium, three body regions, and jointed, paired appendages. Crustaceans include lobsters, crayfish, shrimp, krill, copepods, barnacles and crabs. (Source: Wikipedia)
Just got done watching the first 3 episodes of Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal (I found the first 2 seasons free on Internet Archive)
Fun Fact: Our 2 Leads Spear & Fang are named after Robert E. Howard's first published professional story, the 1928 tale titled "Spear and Fang".
Honestly, it's pretty great so far. It's neat how much story you can tell with such little dialog.
I like the art style, lots of sharp angles and dramatic lighting. The PaleoFauna are stylized but still recognizable as the animals their supposed to be.
I love seeing Spear and Fang's friendship develop, especially in the first 2 episodes.
Zeus and Fang would be great friend, if I'm gonna be honest 😁
The world looks beautiful, dark, and full of infinite potential. No wonder Genndy originally wanted to make season 3 into an Anthology.
I Absolutely Adore how The Mammoths 🦣 are shown preforming a grieving/mourning ritual for their fallen herd member and even have something similar to an Elephant Graveyard.
I can definitely see what the hype was all about 😄
Saw an adorable Green Iguana (Iguana iguana) 🦎 while taking Zeus out for another walk
Precious little Lizzie ☺️
The green iguana (Iguana iguana), also known as the American iguana or the common green iguana, is a large, arboreal, mostly herbivorous species of lizard of the genus Iguana. Usually, this animal is simply called the iguana. The green iguana ranges over a large geographic area; it is native from southern Brazil and Paraguay as far north as Mexico. It is highly invasive in many subtropical and tropical environments throughout the world. (Source: Wikipedia)

Saw these adorable House Sparrow's (Passer domesticus) 🐦 Zeus out for a walk minute ago while taking
Precious little dinosaurs. ☺️
I remember seeing these birds a lot in Maryland as well.
You can find House Sparrows most places where there are houses (or other buildings), and few places where there aren't. Along with two other introduced species, the European Starling and the Rock Pigeon, these are some of our most common birds. Their constant presence outside our doors makes them easy to overlook, and their tendency to displace native birds from nest boxes causes some people to resent them. But House Sparrows, with their capacity to live so intimately with us, are just beneficiaries of our own success. (Source: allaboutbirds.org)
Personally, it would make things at least a little more convenient.
Oh, Perchance to Dream.
Just my opinion, what do Y'all think?
