Detection method of magnolol and honokiol content in Magnolia officinalis extract
Content determination:
According to HPLC determination.
Chromatographic conditions and system suitability test:
Use ODS as filler; methanol-water (78:22) as mobile phase; detection wavelength as 294nm. the number of theoretical plates should not be less than 3800 calculated based on the peak of magnolol.
Preparation of reference substance solution:
Take appropriate amounts of magnolol reference substance and honokiol reference substance, accurately weigh them, and add methanol to make a solution containing 40 μg of magnolol and 24 μg of honokiol per 1 ml,then get it.
Preparation of the test solution:
Take about 0.2g of the powder (passed through the No. 3 sieve), accurately weigh it, and place it in a stoppered conical flask. then accurately add 25ml methanoll, shake well, close the stopper, immerse for 24 hours, and filter. Accurately measure 5ml of filtrate, place it in a 25ml measuring flask, add methanol to the mark, shake well, and get it.
Detection method:
Precisely draw 10ul each of the reference solution and test solution, and inject it into the HPLC instrument for determination.
Calculated as a dried product, and the total content of magnolol (C18H18O2) and honokiol (C18H18O2) shall not be less than 2.0%.
