What a scorcher of a day. It reached 35 degrees this afternoon. We had very blustery nor-west winds. The temperature had dropped to 26 by run o'clock and the wind had dropped a tiny bit. I carried water even though we were only running 7km. I did lots of foam roller once I had cooled down a bit and while we watched the news. NZ has been pummelled by tropical cyclone Fehi today. There has been flooding, wind, rain and fire all in one afternoon stretching the length of the country.

When every run you do for weeks is crappy and just keeps getting crappier…. its SO discouraging! I am at the end of week 7 training to run this marathon and I cant seem to get past this!  I have been working HARD on getting enough sleep, eating more protein and less junk and all I get is another run where I feel AWFUL and my pace is so much slower then I know I am capable of.  I know part of…

Extra Sticky Run
Today's humidity proved to be a challenge for today's run. The heavy, sticky air really made running at my usual pace feel like running in quicksand. I was happy that I only planned to do a shorter run because after 30 minutes I was drenched. After having such a great run on Tuesday this one was a huge let down. I guess I got my "bad run" out of the way.
