Zim lost access to the girly ranger cookies, at least as frequently as before

Zim can no longer convince GIR to take off the costume long enough to wash it

“If I beat your high-score, you have to buy that candle collection we saw at the mall last weekend.”

Your boyfriend sits across from you, a hoodie and sweatpants loose around his figure as he plays whatever it is that he plays in his free time.

A laugh leaves his lips, and you watch as he pauses the game, a grin creeping its way onto tired features.

“Baby, that collection was $200. What are we gonna do with 50 WoodWick Limited Edition candles?”

You scoff, locking your phone and placing it on the end-table next to you. “Burn them.”

He rolls his eyes, dropping the controller in his lap as he stretches his arms above his head.

He yawns, the words becoming mumbled through the action. “This game doesn’t have high scores,”

“What does it have?”

“Kill streaks.”

You scoff again, propping yourself up on your knees as you move closer to him.

“I can totally streak me a kill. Pass it here.”

He groans, making space for you as you maneuver your way in between his legs. “Please never say that again.”

You pick up the controller. “How do you start it?”

After about half an hour, and a very brief explanation of how the game works, Mark watches with wide eyes as you land streak after streak.

“If I get over 200, you’re buying me my candles!” You exclaim, watching the number crawl into the late hundreds.

He stays quiet, hands gripping your waist as he watches your fingers move expertly across the controller, confusion clouding his features. “This is fucking unbelievable.”

When the number hits 205, you pause the game and drop the controller at your side.

“205, babe.”

“I see that.”

“So?” You ask, leaning back into his embrace as he mumbles from behind you.

“We’ll go tomorrow.”

“You know, I let you win.” Mark huffs as the cashier takes his card and swipes it. You grin prettily at him, a stupid, beautiful grin that he can’t help but fall in love with every time he sees it.

“No, you didn’t.”

“I did, it was on beginner’s mode.”

You tug on his arm, furrowing your brows. “That’s not letting me win, and I didn’t see you do that.”

He hums, signing the receipt and picking up the bagged box of candles.

“Whatever.”

You walk in silence until you reach your car, a smug grin on your face when you tilt your head upwards to kiss his lips.

He doesn’t know you play that game on your days off.
