Day 21 of the Covid-19 Stay (My MtF~HRT Journey)
Day 21 of the Covid-19 Stay-At-Home Quarantine here in Washington State.
Usually I post updates about my transgender journey...but this post is actually meant as a means to reflect on the current world events and take a moment to remind myself of the life before Covid-19 and to dream about the life after the coronavirus.
Even now, COVID-19 has totally screwed up my plans I had set for 2020; including having FFS and breast augmentation done this year.
Even if everything goes back to normal by May, 2020...I will be almost three months behind and with the backlog of surgery’s and financial burden...it may be delayed until 2021 (which was when I was going to start advocating for GRS/SRS)...this all just came out of nowhere...
THE COVID STORY—Our stores only get a limited supplies of toilet paper (only one pack per customer); still no hand soap, sanitizer, bleach or paper towels.
Anywhere you go, it’s a six-foot distance and about 70% of everyone I see in town is wearing a face mask and latex gloves.
Due to the risk of infection, I have to be especially careful due to my weakened immune system, thanks to cystic fibrosis.
Most of my appointments are cancelled. Laser hair treatments postponed. Can’t get nails done and luckily I had my hair done three days before the shutdown.
The world I now live in is quite entertaining...how much society has changed with no human contact. No bars or restaurants to dine at. And the limit of customers in a store in 15...I’ll probably never see anything like it again hopefully in my lifetime (although I doubt that will happen).
So...like people across the world, we are staying at home, counting down our last dollars and entertaining ourselves.
During this time...have fun. Relax and take a moment to breathe. Indulge in your right-cortex thinking and do whatever you must to see the bright side of this moment.
Blink, and soon this will be all but history.
