most medibugs will be fine with just drinking blood from their hosts but some require more gruesome activity. depending on how much their hosts need the medibug, the hosts will try to keep the medibug happy or go find a new one who's less aggressive

medibugs that are left on grub-watching duty too often can get frustrated due to not having enough enrichment. they'll need to attack or kill sometimes to relieve the buildup of stress and to satisfy their bloodthirst or else they get too agitated and may attack their hosts

hosts that have a savage medibug can sacrifice animals, prisoners, or trespassers. colony hosts usually won't catch bugs that come from other colonies due to the risk of being at war. it's mostly scoots that get caught since it's easy to catch stragglers. this event is mostly seen in hoovy colonies where they don't take care of their young at all. medibugs will adopt the grubs to ensure that there's a future generation of hosts for the medibug to sustain themselves with but it's a huge and tiresome investment

if medibugs aren't taken care of well, they'll leave their hosts to find a new one. this is rare but stronger medibugs will do it if necessary. weaker ones will tolerate bad conditions since they're unable to survive for long without staying in their symbiotic relationship
