Personality quizzes can identify traits about you based on your answers to questions, but I feel like they are not always accurate and helpful. I believe they are just educated guesses based on very little information. They may be helpful for some people, but I do not believe the information can help me because it is too unreliable.
For example, the Holland Code quiz I took identified me as enterprising, investigative, and social. It then gave me a list of careers that could suit me, but I did not like or agree with a single one. It is used to identify what jobs people would be good at, but I imagine myself being miserable at the jobs identified for me, so I do not agree with this test.
The second test I took was the Myers-Briggs Test, which I believe was a significant improvement from the first test. I think this one is much more accurate. It identified me as INTP, which is used to describe “original thinkers who enjoy speculation and creative problem solving.” I believe this is fairly accurate, but after taking the test I looked through the other options and I can see that I have many of the qualities from the other categories, so it is mostly accurate, but not entirely specific. It is much more accurate than the first, but still not perfect.
After reviewing my results, I have decided that my personality type is fun and interesting to know, but I do not plan on doing anything with the information. I do not trust the process enough to use the information from it. I am going to continue making decisions how I did before I knew my personality type.
