Minor Promotional Interlude
Hey!
Do you like logic-puzzles? Do you like Computer Games??
Check out Hexcells it’s Fun and Good u_u
Seriously I played through it in, like, two days and my immediate reaction to finishing it was “NEED MORE PUZZLE!!” and I have, in a Mature and Forthright fashion, been struggling against my desire to impulse-buy its expansions ever since u_u u_u u_u
While trying to nerve myself up to ruining another OC’s life replaying The City’s Thirst, I’ve been playing Hexcells, which is a delightful puzzle game that starts out like a hex-based, solvable-by-logic Minesweeper, then gradually adds in Picross-like elements. (The puzzle above is the next-to-last one; they take a while to get that complicated.) Challenging towards the end, but not frustrating - just a really pleasant and hexcellent (sorry) experience. Probably about 2-3 hours to finish; the sequels (which I just bought and haven’t played yet) are reputed to have harder puzzles and take more like 9-10 hours.
Highly recommended if you like logic puzzles and have a PC/Mac/Linux system to play it on. The game (and its follow-ups) are under $1 during the Steam sale (through Jan. 4).

the unplayed games in my steam library watching me open hexcells infinite for the fifth time today
The solutions in Hexcells are always aesthetically pleasing, so sometimes you end up looking at part of the board thinking I can't prove it yet but this cell has to be blue because every other possible solution would be ugly
I am missing something here and I have no idea what it is.
ETA: apparently I just needed to look at a screenshot instead of the game. I had a move I could make in the right corner.
