Chesed is my favorite Jewish ethic, which is why I want to get it as a tattoo, because I saw the word Chesed weeks ago and it just called out to me so deeply! It’s why I still consider changing my Hebrew name from Miriam Nasiah Simcha to Miriam Nasiah Chesed. I would add Chesed to the end, but I fear that Miriam Nasiah Simcha Chesed would be too long of a Hebrew name and I’ve read that a Hebrew name can only be up to 3 names long.
Chesed- חֶסֶד -meanings: lovingkindness; grace; covenant loyalty; faith; charity; tikkun olam; devotional piety towards Gd; kindness; steadfast love; goodness; faithfulness; Gd’s unlimited, unconditional, all-inclusive love for His chosen people; the consistent, merciful, kind, ever-faithful, relentless, constantly-pursuing, lavish, extravagant, unrestrained, furious love of Gd; kindness everlasting; loyalty to Gd; graciousness; His abundant kindness; His steadfast faithfulness; Gd’s faithful care; benevolence; compassion.
Update: I have decided to slightly change my Hebrew name to Miriam Yosefa, due to the fact that as Ashkenazi Jews my family follows the tradition of the Hebrew name being after a deceased relative, and I will just follow Chesed as the Jewish ethic I hold most dear
