“The Firstborn of All Creation”
The cosmos flows from Christ's side, culminating in the Monstrance, the divine mystery of the Eucharist, through which we are invited to participate in holy union with Him 🌞
“The Eucharist is not theophagy” “The Eucharist is not cannibalism” omg shut up it literally is!!!!!! I get youre squirmish but idc! You are committing literal heresy. Is the Eucharist the body and blood of Christ or not? It is — whether you mean that sacramentally (physical presence), immaterially (spiritual presence), or metaphorically (memorialism). Is Christ God? If you are a Christian, the answer is 100% yes and this is not up for debate. Is Christ human? If you are a Christian, the answer is 100% yes and this is not up for debate. Then when you commune with Christ by taking him bodily into your embodied form via the Eucharist — whether physically, spiritually, or metaphorically — you are committing an act of both theophagy, the eating of god, and cannibalism, the eating of human flesh. In fact, most specifically it is theophagy by means of cannibalism. It is because of the humanity of Christ that we are able to eat God; it is because of the divinity of Christ that we are able to eat man.
My favorite thing as a non Christian about Christianity is that you eat your god. Like, unironically, how fucking metal is that?? Like, yeah, I went to my church temple thing today and ate some of my god. And he's totally chill with it, btw. Tasted rad. Nom nom
We don’t eat “some” of Jesus. We eat all of Him. And his Blood too.
