I have a Bella x Jasper fic idea: Bella and Jasper are soulmates and Bella had a past life married to Jasper during his human years, but she died from scarlet fever while he was away at war.

Bella still remembers her past life with Jasper (her name back then was Elizabeth, though she preferred to be called Bess), so she has always had an interest in the American Civil War even when she was a little girl, and so she is pleasantly surprised when she reunites with him in Forks!

In this AU, Bella is raised by Charlie and I in Forks. Also, like in canon the Cullens were in Forks a really long time before Bella was born and they move back when Bella is a junior in high school. Bella is also half-Fairy because I am a Fairy and Charlie is human.

In this AU. Jasper still remembers his human life clearly and deeply misses his late wife, Elizabeth.

After Bella and Jasper reunite, they get to know each other again in Bella’s new lifetime. They don’t start dating until after Bella is 18 and they graduate high school. They don’t get married until after Bella graduates from college with a degree in History.

Alternatively, Bella asks me to turn Jasper into a Fairy and to turn her into a full Fairy; I say yes of course and do so. Bella and Jasper get to still be immortal together, but they are now Living Immortals!

(FYI, I chose Elizabeth as Bella’s Civil War era name because Isabella was not a common name back then and, from what I found, Isabella is a Spanish/Italian variant of Elizabeth.)

one time I went over to a friend's house and their housemate was making paper in the living room, and we saw this big tub full of water they were using to dissolve old scrap paper into a slurry, and everyone was immediately like "oh, you need scrap paper?" and started turning out their jacket pockets and producing expired coupons and bus tickets and crumpled receipts and old shopping lists and whatever else they'd been carrying round with them for no good reason, and passing it all to the paper-making housemate to make sure it was suitable before it got torn up and dropped into the tub, while people took turns stirring the slurry with a big wooden stick. it was strangely ritualistic, like presenting an offering to some kind of temple elder for inspection before placing it in a watery shrine to be devoured and reformed. pulp for the pulp god.
