Which Name Should I Chose for My Hebrew Name?
Miriam
Margalit
Marva
Mushka
Simcha or Sima
Anya
Zelda
I love and feel connected to several names that I want to choose for my Hebrew name and thus I am unsure which one to pick! My chosen English name is Sage (which means “wise; healing herb”) & my birth English name was Megan (which means “pearl”). Also, I was raised in an interfaith household of mostly Catholic with some Judaism, so I didn’t get to have a bat mitzvah when I was younger. Hence why I’m choosing my Hebrew name as an adult which is exciting! I also tend to overthink things, hence the poll. The second part of my Hebrew name is going to be Yosefa, so these names I’m considering are for the first part of my Hebrew name.
Name Meanings:
*Miriam - Bitter; uplift
*Margalit - Pearl
*Marva - Sage
*Mushka - Nutmeg
*Simcha or Sima - Joy (Sima also means Treasure; Precious)
*Anya - He has favored me
*Zelda - Happiness
What Should My Hebrew Name Be?

These are all lovely names! I just want to add that as far as I know, Miriam doesn’t mean beloved, rather it means bitter waters. It’s still a beautiful name though!
Indeed they are!! Yeah, that’s what I’ve been told. I have also seen that Miriam supposedly has various meanings (granted, this is according to Wikipedia, so that could be incorrect; and I’ve seen various interpretations of Miriam from various baby name websites as well, so I’m not entirely sure what Miriam means since I’ve seen other meanings of Miriam claimed to also be “wished-for child”, “rebellion”. I wish this was more certain to know!

I really wish people wouldn't look at extremely emaciated celebrities and go "she looks like a Holocaust survivor!" choose any other way to express concern ffs. our generational trauma is not your entertainment.
the only time it's ever been appropriate to say someone looked like a Holocaust survivor was when hostages were released after having been tortured and starved, and I know nobody saying this gave a damn about any of them. find another analogy.

On 22 May 1986, at the Empire Theatre, Leicester Square, Biggles had a Royal World Charity Première in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales, to aid The Prince's Trust and the RAF Benevolent Fund. Before the showing, all those responsible for the film's production were presented to the royal couple, and you can imagine how overjoyed I was when Prince Charles concluded our brief chat by saying, "You're marvellous as Sherlock Holmes." How nice to give him some small pleasure as a break from his onerous duties.

The entire plot happened because this man was nosy 🙏🏻

just thought about star wars and teared up
what if there was a franchise that was about hope, and the relationships between fathers and their children, and the relationships between mentors and their students, and redemption, and fighting against evil even when it all seems lost, and ordinary people believing in the possibility of a better and brighter future, and clinging to your culture even when darkness threatens to overcome you, and being thrust into situations that are so much bigger than you but still doing your best to make even the smallest difference, and fighting against oppression even when it’s all you’ve ever known, and watching the universe change around you and being unable to stop it, and being let down by the people closest to you but still being able to forgive them, and having faith in the people around you even when you don’t have faith in yourself. and also there are laser swords.

To clarify, I’m of Russian Jewish descent which is why I’m considering Russian Jewish names for my Hebrew name.

Also. these names I’m considering are for the first part of my Hebrew name since I’m solidly sure about the second part, Yosefa, in honor of my late Poppy.
So I’ll put the names together for y’all:
•Miriam Yosefa
•Masha Yosefa
•Margalit Yosefa
•Marva Yosefa
•Mushka Yosefa
•Simcha Yosefa
•Sima Yosefa
•Anya Yosefa
•Zelda Yosefa

I talk about this so much. The relationship between Dineʼé and Israelis is so beautiful and has only grown deeper and more beneficial over time. Presidents and other tribal leaders from the Diné nation have visited Israel for diplomatic missions numerous times; there have been exchange programs to aid with education, cultural revitalization, economics; Dineʼé have studied Israeli water management and agriculture to adapt to the conditions in Dinétah (due to the similar climates) and Israeli technologies have provided much-needed resources to Dinétah that the US federal government neglected to provide. And progressives would rather Native Americans have scarce water than that they should have a productive relationship with the Jewish state that made the desert bloom and reforested arid zones no one else valued — until the Jews revitalized those lands, at least.
