Hello!
As you may or may not know India’s covid-19 situation has went from bad to worse in only a couple of days. The second wave has exhausted the health infrastructure as there are more than 400,000+ new cases everyday.
Lack of Supplies
There is a serious need for oxygen in hospitals, as they are running out of supplies. This includes IV bags, ventilators, testing, and multiple other necessities.
Self - treatment/Care
As the hospitals have gotten a massive increase of Covid patients, people have been forced to help and treat themselves. The shortage of oxygen supply limits their capabilities, as well.
Due to these issues, me and a couple others created a fundraiser to help better support the issues occurring. If you could donate or help in any way that would be greatly appreciated. Please reblog and spread the word.
Thank you!!
We are trying to garner support for the worsening COVID-19 situation that is affecting India currently. As of today, people are struggling
Things People Should Do More
- ask people how their day was
- compliment others
- let someone ahead of when in a queue
- randomly buy someone a gift, even if it’s a chocolate bar
- leave a nice note/compliment for others
- pick up rubbish
- let someone else copy your homework
- smile! :)
- write a friend/family member a letter
- tell someone you love them
- help out around the house
- be yourself <3
If we want absolutely no elements of socialism in the United States, should we get rid of public schools, fire fighters, police officers, roads, the postal service, military, FDA, traffic controllers, (actually all federal programs), courts, social services, welfare, medicaid, medicare? etc?
Because if we’re going to keep doing the whole “medicare for all is socialist! and we’ll NEVER BE A SOCIALIST COUNTRY,” it’s bout time you recognize all the other things that are “socialist’ in this country. It’s a MIXED ECONOMY FSDFJKD GH.
LIKE, WE’RE OBVIOUSLY STILL A MIXED ECONOMY WITH UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE (those capitalist attributes won’t suddenly disappear):
https://www.thebalance.com/socialism-types-pros-cons-examples-3305592
We can have private property and QUITE A FAIR AMOUNT of financial freedom (esp compared to the 90+% rate of the top percentage 1944-1964, or of 70% until 1982. oh and by the way, we weren’t a socialist country then, either)
POINT IS: IT’S ALWAYS BEEN A MIXED ECONOMY. We can have private property, create PRIVATE businesses, have financial freedom, but we ALSO have ALWAYS funded a government that is supposed to be for the PUBLIC good.
FREAKIN’ HELP TAKE CARE OF THE SICK AND SHUT Up!!!!! people SHOULDN’T GO BANKRUPT OVER HOSPITAL BILLS.
Canada can do it - they’re also a mixed economy - it’s not so far fetched.
(watching the debate now, listened to “Christian” anti-universal-healthcare radio earlier - and it’s just so frustrating).
Story time: I was 11 with my mom at McDonalds. We were sitting at our table and and obviously homeless man quitely came up as asked if we had any spare change. He said that it was his daughter’s birthday and he wanted to get her some chicken nuggets. I could tell he was lying(and bad at it). I wasn’t one of those kids who got an allowance, but worked under the table at a couple of places to have some spare cash. But I had $10 and gave it to him . My mom started on the “you know he was lying” and “letting strangers take advantage “ speech. She meant well I think. I cut her off.
“I knew he was lying”
“Why did you let him take your money then?”
“He didn’t take my money; I gave it to him. I don’t care that he lied to my face. What was heart breaking was a grown man felt he has to lie to make strangers help. Instead of being able to say that he was hungry and needed help. That man is only eating today because a 11 year old girl had more money then him, and I’m lucky to have someone else pay for my lunch”
After that, mom remembered she had spare change in her purse after all and I made sure he got it before we went home
I don’t buy the world is cruel; we have every means to make this the best world possible.
