While i was playing around with a mirror image puppet, i couldn't help but be struck by the drastic difference in tone in the way Sidestep describes the same eye color in two different people, so i compiled all of their descriptions of their own potential eye colors and then the puppet's in one place for easy comparison:
Black.
Right now, your eyes are dark enough to make you feel like you're looking into the abyss you know you've fallen into years ago.
$!{phis} eyes are deep black pools. Sometimes you spend time in front of the mirror trying to find an answering glint in there, but all you see is your own reflected self.
Brown.
Right now, your eyes are the flat brown of a muddy field, cracked and broken by a merciless sun.
$!{phis} eyes are a warm brown that you're rather fond of. It makes you more trusting, somehow; at least, that's what you like to believe.
Hazel.
Right now, your eyes are faded like dry grass, liable to blow away in a strong wind.
$!{phis} eyes are a light, sunny hazel, neither brown nor green, but caught between the two. You like the way the sun makes them come alive.
Green.
Right now, your eyes are an unwholesome green, more poisonous than healthy.

Gray.
Right now, your eyes are almost colorless, as bleak as the bathroom tiles that surround you.
