13th October 2025 // Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel continued their visit to Japan with a moving trip to Hiroshima. They visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and laid a wreath to honour the 200,000 people who lost their lives following the dropping of the atomic bomb in 1945. Victoria and Daniel also brought along two paper cranes made by their children Estelle and Oscar which were placed on the monument of a 12 year old girl who died as a result of leukaemia caused by the bomb. The child - Sadako Sasaki - had made cranes during her illness, and it has since become a tradition to leave cranes at her monument.
