Angst. We all LOVE angst, right????

Anyway, this is based off not one, not two, but THREE headcanons i have.

First one is obvious; I am a firm believer that Ponyboy went to Dally and Johnny’s burial sites to talk and read to them, along with blankets to keep them warm.

Second, i feel like he’d wear whatever remaining articles of clothing the two left behind. Johnny’s jean jacket, Dally’s burnt one, jeans, shoes, socks. Anything to remind him of them. He’d feel guilty and selfish, but then he’d spray Dally’s cheap cologne or use Johnny’s favorite grease and he’d feel like there’s a weight off him.

Final one, unfortunately i believe that the gang didn’t have enough money for a proper funeral or headstones for Johnny and Dally. They were just put in the ground in a place where all the greasers who never had enough money in life are stuffed. To remember where they were put, Darry planted some flowers for them. I have yet to determine what they planted for Dally, but for Johnny was a sunflower so he could always face the sun. Trust me, it hurt me to write and draw this but its a good hurt.

He’s type of parent who seems to be calm and laid back but is actually really stressed all the time cause he knows the dangers of the world

during sunny just sits in the shade with sunglasses on sipping his coffee and when his child is about to leave tells them: “it’ll be raining today and don’t forget the cap, be home before 7” and can rant for five minutes

sings lullabies... he knows he can’t sing, but if it soothes the baby - hell who cares (that’s some blackmail on his enemies account)

despite being stressed never freaks out and panics - only inside, on the outside always calm and even if he doesn’t know what to do, he doesn’t let it show

when is too tired to deal with overly hyperactive child, lies down pretending to be dead, works every time as in he’s so good at pretending, the child gets tired by just trying to convince its father to move a finger

isn’t making a big deal of eating curse words or replacing them with something more child-friendly, he doesn’t curse often anyway

when asked for where children come from avoids only how the two people do sex

is a type of parent who checks under the bed and in the wardrobe before putting his kid to sleep, then reads him a bedtime story gives a knife for defense saying that the monsters will think twice when they see it - it actually reassures his child that isn’t afraid with weapon in hand of darkness, spiders, snakes or whatever else the horrible world has in to fear

...height is exeption for both of them

tells his child about cruelty of war and how it should be avoided, but in meantime to be always prepared for it

treats the daughter the same as he would treat his son, doesn’t believe in toys assigned to gender - it’s just plastic! When his son wants a doll, he’ll get one, when his daughter wants an action figure, he’ll get it (of course not just for the sake of spoiling the child... he’s definitely not doing that... that’s not a lie... it’s all true...)

Jaal’s body warming every time Liam laughs and looks up at him with those big, kind eyes. All the kisses so many kisses!

And the dates in Aya where he just feeds Liam everything just to see him hum or gag then regret everything when Liam feeds him food on the nexus. Holding hands all the way to the shooting range where Jaal shows Liam all the new weapon tech they have then they compete for the best shot, loser eats the species least favorite dish.

You know they’re like the Tempest’s morale support, like, you sad? Let Liam fix that. Unsure? Jaal’s got you. Proof to the colonies this world is worth the trouble.

Aaahh they’re so in love!!

Liam wearing Jaal’s jacket and they sleep with Liam as the big spoon because Jaal adores physical contact. Wake each other up with neck nuzzles and nose kisses.

Liam is very ticklish! Jaal is like “This is very cute and weird? I love this?” So he sneaks the tickles in making Liam’s face burn as he plots revenge.
