Week 7, Day 1 - Hatch Squat Program
I knew it was just around the corner. Sooo stoked! Especially seeing as I dragged my feet into the box today. It was sooo bloody hot.
I was actually supposed to finish after that one rep of 105 (previous PR lol), but I was feeling strong. And the 3 reps of 95 beforehand felt pretty good.
So I'm told by coach V (thanks for the vid V!) that my legs are strong enough to squat the weight, it's my core that's letting me down. You can see in the vid that I just fold forward coming up outta the hole. DAMNIT. Oh and sorry for nearly hitting you with the bar when I failed Sam..lol.
At least now 115 doesn't scare me (it didn't actually feel too bad unracking it and walking it back).. And 120 isn't too far off. Hallelujah.
More core work coming up.. Watch this space.
10 sets of 3 - All kipped
3 sets of 10 per leg (Bodyweight)
3 sets of 3 per leg (8kg KB)
First 5 mins complete as many reps as possible:
One arm KB snatches (24/16kg)
Use remainder of time (if any) to rest before second part of wod.
First 2.30mins to complete as many reps as possible:
One arm KB snatches (24/16kg)
RX = Completing weight component as prescribed and finishing both runs within the time cap.
Score = Total no. of KB snatches
My lungs were screaming during this one! Vision got cloudy, sweat and chalk in my eyes.. Not a good time.
These were pretty good. Started off with 20 reps per arm, then that went down to 15 when fatigue set in. Ended up with 110 reps before shooting off for the run.
In (2) I just decided to go to failure with each arm, ended up with 54 reps! Pretty chuffed. Just kept telling myself not to finish on an odd number.
No real hand tears thank goodness, just a small rip on my right palm.
800m / 400m runs - Pretty bloody hard when you're fatigued to shit. Definitely makes you work harder knowing you have a deadline!
Finished the 800m run in 3.20mins and only just scraped through with the 400 in 2.20mins lol.. Shattered.
