Two poems that remind me of Hannah and Toby
Hannah to Toby:-
When I'm taking my final breaths, come to me, please come. Call me yours, and for just two moments before I go, hold me to your chest. And when I'm gone, don't cry. I won't be able to bear seeing your tears; my heart will grow restless, and then I won't even be able to die in peace. Keep my books safe. Look at them for a while each day and remember me. Tell the children their stories, and tell them a little about me too. When they ask where I am, place your hand on your heart. And tell them, I'm here.
Toby to Hannah:-
My desire to love you will only end with my death. When my ashes scatter along the banks of the Ganga, that’s when the love in this body for you will finally die. Even as the ashes drift far away, they will surely turn back and look behind. Who knows, maybe that day you’ll just walk by the Ganga, or come once to see me, to watch the love for you leave my body. After my death, it’s possible you might finally leave my heart too.
