Skyrim Haelga Theory
CW: possible drugging, possible dub-con, and possible non-con.
In Skyrim, there is a character in Riften named Haelga who has a reputation was someone who really gets around. You can do a quest for her niece to collect her calling cards to embarrass her aunt.
Haelga claims she does this as worship for Dibella, the Divine of, of many things, love. However, I believe this is a front.
Haelga claims that if someone in Riften catches wind of her worshipping Dibella, they'd kick her out. If this is because the people of Riften don't care about love, they would have kicked out the followers of Mara, but they don't.
Not only that, Dibella is a part of nearly every pantheon in some way or form. Plus, Dibella is a part of the Nordic pantheon and she is not the god that the civil war is fighting over. She also has a temple in Markarth, a city who is probably just as bad as Riften.
When you're doing the quest to collect her calling cards, it's revealed one of her suitors is married and one of them claims she may have drugged him. I don't think infidelity and drugging are something an Aedra would allow.
A Daedra, however, would.
I believe Haelga is a Sanguine worshipper. This would explain the infidelity, the drugging (if you want to believe that suitor is telling the truth), as well as the Daedric boots in her bedroom and her fear of people finding out her "worship" when the Divine she claims to worship is not a problematic one. (The wiki claims that practicing Dibellan arts can lead to ostracism, but I don't think there's real proof beyond Haelga's words, which is the wiki's only reference.)
my icy bitch with her gucci bag of holding + newly acquired elven longsword 💅👜⚔✨
Svana Far-Shield, to Haelga: What are you supposed to be, a birthday cake? Too bad everybody's HAD a piece.
🖊 tell us more about haelga!
Ah, Haelga.
A child so new she doesn't even have a surname yet [except in game, because all my Norn girls go by Jorgensdottir].
So, a few facts about the nicest woman you'll ever meet. She's not all rainbows and smiles exactly, but a hug and a mug of her mystery stew will set you on your feet again in no time. No, you can't have the recipe. Yes, she will be your mum if you need one.
A seamstress by trade, she often uses her clones to make the basic pattern, leaving her to focus on the more intricate work. She also often appears to quite literally have many pairs of hands on the go at once. It's extra helpful when you're trying to work and all four of your kids want something at the same time.
She's a good match for her husband, Sigfast Knutsson, because she calms him easily when he's getting restless, and while she doesn't really get super involved with his childcare work unless asked, they both love kids and wanted a huge family. She's also more than happy to be firm with his father and brother when they start trying to tame him. Only she's allowed to do that.
Now, Sigfast was very close friends with the Commander long before Haelga married him, but he was so confident that Kara and Haelga would be instantly obsessed with each other that he just sat them down for dinner the first night they met, took the kids out, and told his favourite ladies he'd be back in the morning. Now, they kick him out for the night almost as often as they let him stay.
She's chamomile tea, she's your favourite soup, she's the way your dressing gown smells when its fresh from the dryer.
She will adopt you. You have no choice.

my man tythis is Intrigued
Confession: I hate how mean everyone is to Haelga for worshiping Dibella and I don’t really understand it? Genuinely was Bethesda just wanting to slutshame her or was there an actual point?
