Last Chance

“Ya know… with our line of work and the things we’ve seen, every day is a gift.” The man clanked his glass against his friend’s. “And, its always that first step that’s the biggest.” His red eyes purposefully glanced over to the petite, lively bookworm who sat in the corner. A book in hand per her standard and glasses on her face.

His friend snorted, happy the usually intimidating man had found the courage to confess his feelings. But that wasn’t for him. Not the end he saw coming. 

“Not all endings are as fairytale-ish as yours and bookworm over there.” He chuckled at his pun, mentally admitting that the slap he received on the back of his head was well deserved. 

“I’m just sayin’ that if you were to die tomorrow, what would you regret not doing the most? Something that could be easily done today?” 

A lot of things. 

It pissed him off to no end to admit his pierced friend was right. In so many ways. 

He watched his current, long-time admirer make her way over to the table where the light blue mage sat with her other blonde friend. Together, the three of them laughed and smiled over the identical books in front of them. They had their own personal, miniature book club. 

Her smile contagious, he found the beginnings of a grin forming on his face. She was across the damn room! Yet, her laugh made his heart swell and a part of him - a hopeful part - wondered how he’d feel to be the source of her laughter. 

“Take that feeling and run with it.” His eyes snapped back to his friend. That boyish love fell from his eyes, the smile straightening out. 

Another round of laughter caught both of their attention and they swiveled to see the spectacle. 

Specifically, he looked at her. With her blue hair pulled up into a simple ponytail and adorned with a black, lacy bow, she threw her head back as laughter bubbled up from her chest. The grin remained, even when her mirth died down, and a lovely flush gave color to her otherwise pale face. 

She must have left her hats at home, a rare occurrence, but one that never failed to catch his attention. Speaking of attention, she wore a tight, black tank top, cut off, jean shorts, and ankle boots. All in an attempt to catch his eye. She never hesitated to display her crush on him - even to a creepy level. 

If only she knew she did that just by walking into the room. 

For a fraction of a second, he tightened his hand on the mug handle before downing the rest of the contents. 

“I’ll see you tomorrow, metalhead.” 

Take that feeling and run with it.

“Okay… Okay… Okay,” mumbling under his breath and flexing his fingers, he approached where she sat, her head instinctively turning to him. 

Had she felt his presence? 

No… don’t be cliche. Her friends told her. 

He caught the way the two tried to hide their knowing smiles and giggles behind their hands. He wasn’t that oblivious, but he really hoped his reason for coming over hadn’t been too obvious.

“Hey…” He stopped, quickly clearing his throat. Keep it simple. “Can we talk?” 

He reached out, compelled to touch soft skin a mere foot from him. Her strap didn’t even cover an inch of her shoulder. His tanned hand against her pale skin… He’d never felt cold before, not since he was a child, but touching her felt like walking inside after being out in hundred-degree weather. Refreshing and chilling. 

Keeping his gaze level with her eyes, he really hoped he didn’t botch this.

“Of course.” Her words snapped him from his trance and he visibly gulped as she stood, suddenly extremely close as she waved goodbye to her friends and guildmates. 

He opened the door to the outside for her, catching his friend’s gaze at the bar while he ignored a very happy, very gossipy barmaid’s encouraging thumbs up.

Don’t botch this moron. Don’t botch this!

First, I din’t even know there was going to be a chapter today... so that was a nice surprise waking up to.

To the main point, this chapter was OTP OVERLOAD!!!! We got Nalu, being all cute and breaking into her house once more and also Natsu being shirtless and Lucy not minding (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧. 

Then we get info. that Crime Sorciere will also be joining, AKA Jerza!!! And also that sisterly panel between Erza & Wendy was just so precious (ಥ﹏ಥ).

There was also Gruvia!!! I NEED TO KNOW!!!!!! BUT I HAVE A FEELING THAT HE IS GOING TO CHOOSE HER!!!! NO I KNOW HE WILL CHOOSE HER!!! They are just so precious. (╥﹏╥)

LETS ALSO NOT FORGET ABOUT GAJEEVY!!!! They.are.in.the.same.bed. NO ONE CAN DENY IT!!!!!!! (¬‿¬)

Lastly, COULDN’T THEY HAVE A PEACEFUL NIGHT?!?!?? ITS NOT FAIR 

(╥﹏╥). Because now its war and there will be fights & i’m pretty sure there will be emotional scenes & IM NOT READY!!!!!!
