yes! so the original poster for that headcanon is @nnoragamis but I will happily add to the headcanons MASTERLIST RULES

-> So first off. Yes, he acts like he hates it. Makarov forced him into looking over them whilst literally everyone else was out on a job. He's trying to brood and suddenly he gets hit with responsibility of keeping people alive. He's not cut out for this and he doesn't want to be seen with them first of all.

-> Stays out of it, keeps a watchful eye on them. Knows Erza can handle them. Leaves her to it. Until she gets into a fight with Mira which creates the perfect opportunity for Natsu and Gray to start fighting, and Cana leads Lisanna away to probably search for fairies.

-> Oh shit. He's actually got to babysit them.

-> He gets better after the first day. Keeps Mira and Erza separated. Keeps a spare shirt somewhere for Gray. Tucks away a few Jewel for when Natsu complains he's starving and going to die. Makes sure Lisanna's favourite stuffed animal is kept safe if she needs it.

-> Would he rather be doing anything else? Yes. 100%. But Makarov doesn't even have to tell him now, Laxus just assumes his duty as the babysitter.

-> Has had to get in the way of a few physical fights. The ones between Natsu and Gray are easy. Erza and Mira are the ruthless ones. Has come out with a few bruises just from pulling them apart - doesn't say who they came from.

-> Sits with Cana - usually in silence - until he comments on her drinking from a young age. There are brief talks about shit dads.

-> He pulls out games like 'who can be quietest the longest?' He's trying to get 5 minutes of peace. Natsu doesn't even last 2. Laxus understands now why adults make these games.

-> Lisanna puts bows in his hair once - he forgot about them until Makarov commented on them in the evening.

-> Despite all his brooding, they're not scared of him. They bully him instead. Don't respect his authority until he gently threatens to lose it (with a mild spark) and only then do they listen but they all know he won't hurt them.

-> Dealing with the feral orphans early on in life definitely led to him being able to handle Bickslow.

The girls are back to normal 🤣
