…Nori and Luna, leaving behind their home, not a place, but their friends, people dearest to them, because Gunn had hurt them too much, because they cannot stand Gunn’s wrongs any longer. And they make it, but they are never truly free from GunnTech
…Alina, sick and tired and in pain, hazarding an escape for a chance at something different than this, disregarding everyone she’s leaving behind. And she gets that happy ending, but looses her memories in the process
…Adrian, who lost everything he thought he had, abandoning what he still has left, his lover, his brother, all the kids he helped train, to take revenge on Gunn and his whole company. And he escapes, but is left mutilated and unstable from his attempt, no longer the man he used to be
…Mateo, Lasairfhíona and all the other Ninjalinos, who aren’t old enough to understand the weight of their circumstances but someone who else does and has decided that they don’t deserve what would happen to them if they stayed. And they find a new home, in Nori and each other, but they will never get a normal childhood
…Kore, who’s spent her whole life working against GunnTech from the inside, who has sacrificed herself and gone through so much pain just to keep her siblings from Gunn, just to spare the other trainees, now sitting in Odin’s cockpit with Gavin on the passenger seat, leaving behind the trainees she protected, her friends, her mission, leaving behind Kit-her best friend, her home, because Gunn going after her brother was the last straw, because even Kit didn’t understand. But she never really makes it, does she?
