"Stone" Side Tables from Deet's House (B) - Jim Henson Company 70th Anniversary Auction on Julien's Auctions, sold for $896 - Lot 126

"Two "stone" side tables from Deet's (performed by Beccy Henderson and voiced by Nathalie Emmanuel) house in Grot from the prequel series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Netflix, 2019).

Both tables are comprised of two elements - a removable, fiberboard table top and a Styrofoam base. The components of both parts are hand-carved and painted in order to give them the appearance of stone. One of the tables has an oval shaped base with an overhanging table top, the other has a circular base and table top. 

Both tables feature wear throughout consistent with heavy production usage. This wear includes, but is not limited to, scuffing and scratch marks, chipping, and paint peeling.

Well anyway all I could think about was how when the militant Skeksis are sent to collect the Urru, some of them of course will be harder to capture or collect than others...and obviously the absolute hardest to get would be UrLii.

Here's why:

He's extremely elusive, living in an extremely elusive place that even the Gelfling doubted to exist for a while

Dude's basically a cryptid even amongst the Grottans

He's an old hermit who's been living down there for at least a few good hundred years if not more- he knows those caves like the back of his hand

Dark, too many places for him to hide in.

He could easily squeeze into tiny spaces the Skeksis could not.

Again he's been living down there for who knows how long- he's probably evolved at least to some degree to allow him to live down there easily like elongated toes and fingers for gripping and claws and the ability to see in the dark a symbiotic relationship with the glowing moss etc.

Plus undoubtedly behind that placid exterior he's crafty as FRICK and borderline evily mischievous

So basically what I'm getting at here is maybe SkekUng and SkekVar would be crawling around down there trying to find him like the most extreme hide n' seek championship ever grumbling about how SkekLi probably led them on some wild Fizzgig chase meanwhile unbeknownst to them UrLii is literally crawling across the ceiling right above their heads like a twisted horror movie monster with a stupid smile on his face

So basically the meat of all this is:

SkekYag accidently invented Rock Candy. Since Grottrans have various methods of pickling and preserving food, SkekYag decided he would try this himself to make a convenient, lasting food supply so he wouldn't have to leave his geology studies often.

So he set up jars filled with a concoction of sugar water, making his first attempts at the preservation method: however, it was called to his attention that UrLii had gotten lost in the caves (again). By the time he had recovered the lost mystic and returned, he quite forgot all about his experiment; so the jars laid neglected for weeks on end.

It wasn't until after a sudden bout of cleaning did he reclaim the jars, and discover them filled with crystals! Immediately setting them to study, he first tasted them- sugar. The forgotten experiment had yielded crystals!

What if UrLii had a bed of some sort somewhere in the Tomb of Relics- like a side closet he could go into and it has a pile of quilts or a nest of glowing moss he can lay on during extensive visits?

Imagine if one of the Grottans goes down to the Tomb to learn from him and they just stumble across the side closet, and upon peeping in they see a very content and asleep Mystic loaf with his tail flopped over his head?
