As a sex neutral ace the best way I could describe how I feel about sex is like it’s a really popular tv show, that everyone loves, and I have no interest in watching.
Like people constantly make memes about it, and like I find them funny sometimes, but I just don’t really feel like watching the show still.
And everyone tells me it’s just that I haven’t watched enough of it, but I don’t feel like wasting my time watching a show that I find boring.
It’s not that I hate when people talk about it, like I’ve heard enough about it to join the conversation and make a few jokes, like I at least know who the main character is.
One time I decided to give it a try because so many people have been talking about it, and i thought maybe there was just something about it that I was missing. But I got like three episodes in, and was super bored.
Sometimes I’ll date someone who really loves the show, so I’ll watch it with them, cause it makes them happy, and again, it’s not like I hate it, i just find it uninteresting. Sometimes watching it with my girlfriend can make it less boring, and it’s cute how much she likes it. But id still rather do anything else.
Sometimes I’ll make jokes about the show, because at this point I’ve heard enough about it that I can.
Some people tell me that because I’ve watch the show, or because I’m okay with watching it with my girlfriend than I must secretly like it, and they think I’m just lying about not liking it to get attention.
Other shows and movies often make reference to it, and I don’t really like when they do.
People write a bunch of fanfic for it and art, and I don’t really like when that pops up somewhere.
And there are other people like me, who don’t like the show. Some still watch it, some hate it with a burning passion and hate when it’s brought up, some hate it but like to watch it with a friend, some people just don’t like watching tv all together, and so on.
